After months of radio silence, developer Crytek has announced that it will be premiering a first-look trailer for Crysis Remastered on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. Our first official look at in-game footage, this will be the chance Crytek has to convince everyone if a remaster is required.

With the game coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and even the Nintendo Switch, it would be nice to get a glimpse of each version running on its respective hardware. That might be a little too much to ask for, but Crytek should definitely be showing off what the Switch can do.

Crysis has been notorious over the years for its PC melting ability. An eventual port to Xbox 360 and PS3 had to rework the game into the updated CryEngine framework, which then scaled back some of the player abilities. It even removed an entire chapter from the game (though it was the worst one).

With 13 years of technological progress having been made since its 2007 debut, there's a chance that this remaster won't be as dramatic as people are expecting. It certainly will run better, but will it improve the visuals dramatically? Is there even anything to really improve from the original? All of that and more will be answered in short order.
