Cyberware plays a huge part in Cyberpunk 2077, but pairing it with specific builds can be a little bit tricky to get the hang of. This is mostly because of the sheer amount of cyberware in the game - there's an awful lot to choose from, and so choosing anything at all can become pretty daunting alarmingly fast.

If you're having a lot of fun with your current playstyle, but are unsure about how to best optimize it with tech and gadgets, look no further than this comprehensive Cyberpunk 2077 best cyberware guide, which includes specific sections for every major build in the game.

Updated June 24, 2023, by Sean Murray: Choosing your chrome is as important now as it has ever been in Cyberpunk 2077, so we've refreshed this guide and shortened it slightly to make it easier to choose the best cyberware.

Cyberware is generally better the rarer it is, so this guide assumes we are discussing each individual component at max specs, or in its most rare variant.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Best Cyberware For Sharpshooters

Overwatch Cyberpunk 2077

Sharpshooters are sneaky snipers, and are therefore best at controlling combat from afar. As a result, you'll primarily want to use cyberware that increases your gun's strength and optics, as well as cyberware that allows you to benefit from being in a remote area.

Bioplastic Blood Vessels

At Legendary rarity, this cyberware allows you to regenerate 50% of your max health per second outside of combat. Because snipers never truly engage in close-quarters combat, this is a godsend if you take a hit - if you have enough distance between you and the enemy, you should be able to escape the combat encounter and bring yourself back to full HP in a pinch.

Kiroshi Optics

This cyberware grants you access to a special kind of optic zoom and has three mod slots at max rarity. It also gives you access to Night City's bounty system.

Bionic Joints

At max rarity, this reduces the recoil off of ranged weapons by 25%.

There are also a range of very similar cyberware implants that are brilliant for sharpshooters, all of which reduce recoil and sway while buffing your armor. These are as follows:

  • Moore Tech Berserk
  • Zetatech Berserk
  • Biodyne Berserk
  • Militech Berserk

Cyberpunk 2077 - Best Cyberware For Gunslingers

Crash Cyberpunk 2077

Gunslingers use guns too - obviously! - but are more interested in close or mid-range combat. They mainly rely on their weapons, but these cyberware implants can help them out in pretty major ways, too.

Feedback Circuit

This allows you to regain 10% of your max health by launching a projectile that is fully charged - this means it's only applicable to tech weapons.

Kerenzikov

This allows you to slow down time by 90% for 3.5 seconds if you attack, dodge, or aim down the sights while sliding.

Fortified Ankles

This is technically good for all builds, but gunslingers benefit the most from it in combat. It allows you to perform hover jumps, which are great for giving yourself a solid vantage point, even in the thick of battle. This cyberware also reduces fall damage by 15%.

Zetatech Sandevistan

With this cyberware, you can slow down time by 50% for 15 seconds, every 30 seconds. You choose when to use it. While time is slowed, your critical hit chance is increased by 20% - if you can land some easy headshots on slowed enemies, you can clear out entire mobs.

Dynalar Sandevistan

This is similar to the above cyberware, except it has an extra rarity rank. At Legendary rarity, this slows time by 75% for 16 seconds and increases both damage dealt and critical hit chance by 15% each.

Maneuvering System

Allows you to dodge while in mid-air. This is also good for Samurai, but is pretty great for Gunslingers when combined with hover jumping.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Best Cyberware For Samurai

Samurai are fast, close-combat melee users. The idea here is to deal as much damage as possible as quickly as possible, while focusing on cyberware that enables offense-based survivability.

Self-ICE

Samurai don't necessarily need a whole lot of tech, but this one comes in handy. It prevents enemy Netrunners from hacking you, which is excellent when you consider how vulnerable you are when you're fighting enemies at close quarters. The cooldown is 45 seconds, and you'll need an Intelligence stat of 10 to use it.

Limbic System Enhancement

At max rarity, this increases your critical hit chance by 7%.

Visual Cortex Support

This can increase crit damage by up to 30% - used in tandem with Limbic System Enhancement, this makes Samurai users absolute monsters.

Heal-On-Kill

At max rarity, this allows you to regenerate 10% of your health for every enemy kill. For a close combat class like Samurai, this is pretty absurd.

Mantis Blades

These are immensely powerful melee weapons. At max rarity, they have three mod slots for you to play with.

Monowire

This has a longer range than the Mantis Blades and operates via a charge system - attacking enemies deals damage based on charge, which is generated while the Monowire is equipped but not in active use. Also has three mod slots at max rarity.

Reflex Tuner

This slows down time by 80% for 4 seconds when you drop below 25% of your max HP. This gives you a pretty good chance to turn the situation around, especially if you've also got Heal-On-Kill equipped.

Microrotors

This increases your melee attack speed by 25% at max rarity - pretty great when Reflex Tuner kicks in.

Microvibration Generator

This increases your melee damage by 15%.

QianT Sandevistan

While most of the Sandevistan cyberware is ideal for gunslingers, this one is too good to pass up as a Samurai. It slows time by 90% for 8 seconds, during which damage dealt is increased by 15%, critical hit chance is increased by 10%, and critical hit damage is increased by 50%. Use this cyberware and you'll be slicing and dicing without breaking a sweat.

Neofiber

Increases your overall evasiveness by 15% at max rarity.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Best Cyberware For Bruisers

An image of V from Cyberpunk 2077 wielding the iconic Cottonmouth melee weapon that deals electric damage

Bruisers are tanks - you soak up loads of damage while dishing it out with slow and heavy melee swings. These cyberware implants focus on stamina and health regeneration, as well as stacking survivability in your favor so that you can simply beat enemies in a war of attrition.

Syn-Lungs

At max rarity, this increases stamina regeneration by +25%, meaning that you'll be able to regain all the stamina you've been using up in no time. A must-have for any decent bruiser.

Blood Pump

Another must-have for bruisers, this allows you to instantly regenerate 90% of your max health in combat. With a cooldown of just 30 seconds, this can make you into a complete tank.

Biomonitor

This cyberware restores you to 100% HP when your health falls below 15%. It has a cooldown of two minutes - used in conjunction with Blood Pump, you basically have infinite health.

Adrenaline Booster

This restores 50% of your stamina every time you defeat an enemy - if you're clever with how you deal damage, this means your stamina should never deplete in a fight.

Gorilla Arms

This turns your bare hands into metal gorilla fists. I think that pretty much explains all you need to know about this wildly powerful weapon. At max rarity, Gorilla Arms have three mod slots.

Inductor

If you are shocked by an enemy EMP, it will increase your armor by 50% instead of dealing damage, which makes being in the thick of a mob far easier.

Pain Editor

Reduces all incoming damage by 10% - a great piece of gear for a bulky tank designed to be sturdy.

Shock-n-Awe

Given that this build focuses on dealing and taking damage in pretty much equal measure, having a 10% chance to emit an electrical blast that deals damage equal to 20% of an enemy's HP every time you take a hit is pretty good.

Endoskeleton

Increases your max health by 60%.

Bionic Lungs

Increases your max stamina by 60%.

Dense Marrow

This increases your melee damage output by 25%, but attacks cost 10% more stamina. Paired with the stamina-boosting cyberware listed above, the downside becomes negligible.

Subdermal Armor

Increases armor rating by 200 points.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Best Cyberware For Assault

Moron Labe 2-1 Cyberpunk 2077

Assault is a more hybrid class - I think it's best played with heavy guns, but you don't quite need to stay at the same range as a sharpshooter. It's like a hard-hitting, less agile gunslinger.

Microgenerator

Given that assault builds blend high-octane action with some tankier aspects, this is a brilliant piece of cyberware with anyone who likes this sort of playstyle. When your health drops below 15%, you'll release an EMP that damages all of the enemies in your immediate vicinity by 50% of their max HP. You need a technical ability of 16 to use the Legendary Microgenerator, but it's well worth it if this is a build you're comfortable using.

Ballistic Coprocessor

This is great for anyone who uses power weapons. Essentially, this causes bullets to ricochet two additional times off of hard surfaces, which allows you to pull off some ridiculous angles when targeting enemies behind cover - especially if you've got the Trajectory Generator mod equipped.

Smart Link

This allows you to use smart weapons, which are otherwise totally unusable. At max rarity, it also increases smart gun homing chance by 15% and critical hit damage by 25%.

Projectile Launch System

This equips a powerful missile launcher that has three mod slots if the cyberware is Legendary.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Best Cyberware For Hackers

11-Cyberpunk 2077 The 10 Best Quickhacks

Hackers do exactly what they say on the tin - they hack! Here's the best way to spice up your hacking capabilities with cyberware.

Bioconductor

This reduces all other cyberware cooldowns by 30% at max rarity, meaning that it's an immensely valuable gadget for any build that uses cyberware as a core component.

Tyrosine Injector

This is only available as an uncommon piece of cyberware. It's not amazing by any means, but it's a great pick for someone who focuses a lot on quickhacks. Essentially, it increases the duration of the Breach Protocol minigame by 100%, which makes quickhacking far easier.

Ex-Disk

This increases your max RAM by five at max rarity, which dramatically improves your quickhacking potential.

RAM Upgrade

This increases your RAM recovery rate by 0.3 per second at max rarity, which is only rare for this cyberware. In conjunction with the above cyberware, your hacking potential becomes pretty much limitless.

Memory Boost

This allows you to replenish 4 RAM for every enemy you defeat, which makes chaining vicious quickhacks incredibly powerful.

Camillo RAM Management

This is great for when you need to use up lots of RAM in one go - every four minutes, this allows you to instantly regain 30% of your max RAM capacity when your count drops to two units.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Best Cyberware For Stealth

Via VGR.com

Stealth builds aren't quite as tied to cyberware, but there are definitely some gadgets you can equip to help yourself avoid detection.

Synaptic Accelerator

At max rarity, this slows down time by 50% for 4 seconds whenever you are detected by enemies.

Lynx Paws

This cyberware allows you to make 50% less noise while moving, making you much more difficult to detect.

Optical Camo

Activating this allows you to become pretty much invisible for 15 seconds.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Best Cyberware For All Builds

Finally, there's some cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077 that's so good it can be used effectively with pretty much any build. Here are some of the best examples.

Second Heart

This fully revives you if your health is depleted. With a cooldown of only two minutes, this can make you almost invincible.

Mechatronic Core

This increases overall damage output against androids, drones, and mechs by a whopping 50% at max rarity.

Detoxifier

This makes you completely immune to all poison effects.

Metabolic Editor

This is one better than Detoxifier, in that poison damage is actually converted into health and regenerates at 12% per second.

Heat Converter

Attacks that would normally induce burn on you now increase your damage output by 10% - you are also immune to the burn itself.

Cataresist

This increases all of your resistances by 35% - a great piece of cyberware for someone who is looking to fill an extra slot with something that provides a powerful general buff.

Titanium Bones

Increases your carrying capacity by 60%. The max rarity of this cyberware is rare.

Reinforced Tendons

This cyberware allows you to double jump, which is handy for basically all builds, even outside of combat.

Fireproof Coating

This gives you full immunity against burn effects.

Grounding Plating

This gives you full immunity against electrical effects.

Supra-Dermal Weave

This gives you full immunity against bleed effects.

Militech Falcon Sandevistan

Like most Sandevistan cyberware, this has a lot of effects. However, these can be applied to basically any build - this cyberware slows time by 70% for 20 seconds, while increasing damage dealt by 15%, critical hit chance by 20%, and critical hit damage by 35%.

Synaptic Signal Optimizer

Increases the duration of all Sandevistan and Kerenzikov cyberware effects by 2 seconds.

And there you have it! That's all of the different cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077, split into whichever build each individual implant best represents. Choose a playstyle from our Cyberpunk 2077 best builds guide, mess around with the implants assigned to it above, and you'll be the talk of Night City in no time at all.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for PC on GOG.COM, Steam and Epic, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Stadia from December 10, 2020. When you buy Cyberpunk 2077 on GOG.COM, 100% of your money goes to CD PROJEKT Group and supports their future projects.
