The technological advances predicted by Cyberpunk 2077 are evident everywhere you go in Night City. Almost every pedestrian uses ocular implants at a minimum, half of them have cybernetic limbs, and your enemies have become more machine than human. Being technologically illiterate isn't an option if you want to survive for more than a few hours on the streets.

Maybe you plan to be the next legendary computer hacker, getting into computer systems, spying on foreign dignitaries, and making a revered codename for yourself on the net. Or maybe you just need to hack away a few bonus items. Whatever your plans are for breaching, these will be the skills you will want to prioritize as they maximize the value of every skill point invested.

10 Compression

Cyberpunk 2077 Breach Protocol Compression Skill Tree

Compression

Passive

Reduces The Lengths Of The Sequences Required To Upload Daemons By 1. Cannot Be Reduced Below 2

This perk can be huge and will likely be the difference between being able to upload one daemon and five daemons. In Night City, this could make all the difference.

Reducing the sequence might not seem like a big deal, but consider that this reduces most of the sequences to only two digits long, making it much more likely that you can upload every daemon you've learned so far.

9 Head Start

Head Start

Passive

Automatically Uploads The First Daemon In The List At The start Of Breach Protocol

The best daemon is the one that you don't have to worry about. If you look at your options carefully, you'll be much more likely to get everything you want uploaded after you have the first one given to you.

Usually, this is the daemon that locates everything on the network, so you'll be able to see every camera, turret, and robot at no cost whatsoever.

8 Turret Tamer

Cyberpunk 2077 Breach Protocol Turret Tamer Skill Tree

Turret Tamer

Passive

Unlocks The Turret Tamer Daemon, Which Sets The Status Of Every Turret In The Network To Friendly For 3 Minutes

There is another daemon here that disables all turrets, but why even have that as a choice when you can convert them all to doing your shooting for you? Choose one or the other, but not both, because both daemons will show up on your list, and taking over turrets at the same time as disabling them is a waste.

Do yourself a favor: let the turrets break in the enemy for you. Either the enemies will die or the turrets will die, and whoever survives will have a chunk of health missing. That's a win-win scenario right there.

7 Advanced Datamine

Advanced Datamine

Passive

Upgrades The Datamine Daemon, Increasing The Amount Of Eurodollars Acquired From Access Points By 50%

If you do every side job in the game, loot every body, and break into every briefcase, you will still be tight on cash. Eddies aren't something that Night City parts with easily.

Thankfully, hackers have another means of cash flow with access points and can... let's say redirect... money from processing transactions into their own accounts. The money is substantial, so increasing (and even doubling at level two) the amount is well worth your while.

6 Datamine Mastermind

Datamine Mastermind

Passive

Upgrades The Datamine Daemon, Increasing The Amount Of Components Acquired From Access Points By 50%

If you're going to be datamining for cash, why not get a few crafting materials as well? If crafting is what you live for, then this becomes mandatory.

Even if you're not into crafting as much, you can always sell the extra pieces that you get. The materials are valuable and this skill eventually doubles the financial advantage already given by the last skill.

5 Buffer Optimization

Buffer Optimization

Passive

Increases The Duration Of Daemon Effects By 100%

Unlike quickhacks, you can only breach a security system once per encounter, so you'll be on the clock as soon as you finish. Three to six minutes might seem like plenty of time for a quick NCPD crime scene assist, but during the main story missions, you'll be frequently stuck in buildings and areas that take up to twelve minutes to clear, even if you're fast.

If you pick this up, your advantages from breaching will pretty much last for the entire encounter, which can change the whole approach to certain missions, as well as how long you can spend thoroughly checking everything you want to.

4 Mass Vulnerability

Mass Vulnerability

Passive

Unlocks The Mass Vulnerability Daemon, Which Reduces The Physical Resistance For All Enemies In The Network By 30% For 3 Minutes

The daemons that you're given usually target robotic enemies, turrets, and security cameras. Since those aren't your biggest issues, you might mistakenly consider abandoning hacking altogether, but this skill saves the day.

Reducing physical resistance by 30 percent translates to a massive damage increase with your more traditional weapons, so everything from baseball bats to shotgun shells will reap the benefits.

3 Mass Vulnerability: Quickhacks

Cyberpunk 2077 Breach Protocol Mass Vulnerability: Quickhacks Skill Tree

Mass Vulnerability: Quickhacks

Passive

Upgrades The Mass Vulnerability Daemon, Causing Enemies In The Network To Also Take 30% More Damage From Quickhacks

Of course, making the enemy take more damage from quickhacks is a big benefit, but the most important part of this skill is that it is not a new daemon, but it's tied to the same daemon that increases your weapon effectiveness.

Because of this, you get two benefits for the price of one and you won't have to worry about typing in another code. What's not to love?

2 Datamine Virtuoso

Cyberpunk 2077 Breach Protocol Datamine Virtuoso Skill Tree

Datamine Virtuoso

Passive

Upgrades The Datamine Daemon, Increasing The Chance To Acquire A Quickhack From Access Points By 50%

There are two ways to acquire quickhacks. One is to shell out tons of your precious eddies and find the right vendor on the right day. However, the better option is to get them randomly from datamining. The odds are low, especially to get a legendary quickhack like Suicide or Cyberpsychosis, but they do exist.

This skill will increase your odds of getting these new hacks. If you're really impatient and don't like playing games of chance, save the game before using an access point. No new hack? Reload your game. It'll take a few minutes, but it'll make the rest of your journey much easier.

1 Extended Network Interface

Extended Network Interface

Passive

Automatically Highlights Nearby Access Points

You might not think you need this skill, but access points are often hidden behind panels, up on rooftops, and underneath desks. They can be hard to spot, even in the most open or smallest of environments.

Every location is a chance to not only disable enemy units that oppose you, but also to generate income and crafting pieces. Your wallet will thank you for your single-point skill investment.
