There's a sequence in Cyberpunk 2077's prologue during which you'll need to use a Braindance to locate a highly-valuable biochip in Yorinobu Arasaka's hotel room. The Braindance itself is fairly easy to adjust to, although the biochip location isn't immediately obvious. This rings especially true once you consider that you'll need to memorize exactly where the biochip is during the Braindance in order to retrieve it when you pull off the actual heist later on.

If you're currently preparing for or embarking on the heist to retrieve the biochip for Evelyn and are struggling to locate it, look no further than our comprehensive guide on where to find the biochip during the Braindance in Cyberpunk 2077. This guide covers both the Braindance itself and the heist that comes after it.

Cyberpunk 2077 Braindance - Where Is The Biochip In The Hotel Room?

This quest begins once Evelyn introduces you to Judy Alvarez at Lizzie's. Judy is a Braindance editor, meaning that she has the ability to manipulate recorded Braindance reels in order to examine them in more depth.

Once you sit down with Judy, you will do a couple of test Braindances for calibration purposes. These are just practice ones, so don't worry too much about them. The real deal is when Judy plugs you into Evelyn's own recording from Yorinobu Arasaka's penthouse, which is the clip you need to interrogate in order to deduce the location of the chip. The Braindance will look a bit like this.

As you can see in the screenshot above, there are two different wavelengths at the top of the screen. The top one is the standard Braindance editing mode, whereas the bottom one - which we're currently on in the screenshot - is the audio line. Changing wavelength allows you to interact with different aspects of the Braindance - in the picture above, the green glow represents Yorinobu's phone, which we can tap into in order to hear the conversation he's having - even though Evelyn wasn't able to hear it herself in the moment.

The hint for this section is that you need to do quite a bit of messing about between the first two wavelengths before you can actually find the chip. After investigating some of the interactable objects you can see in these two modes - the times at which you can locate these are highlighted by the emboldened part of the line - you will unlock a third wavelength, granting you access to thermal vision.

Ironically enough, you'll need to rewind all the way back to the start of the sequence in order to find the biochip. While in thermal mode, you need to wait until Evelyn walks over to the back left corner of the room and stops at the table, which happens during Yorinobu's phone call. If you're in thermal mode, you'll be able to see a rectangular interactable object on the floor in the back left corner of the room. It will be highlighted as a yellow panel, and marks an underground refrigeration unit designed to house the biochip and protect its integrity. Once you've scanned this, and proved it's where the biochip is, you'll be pretty much good to go.

I recommend doing all of the sections marked in bold across all three wavelengths, as it's good practice for future Braindances and can also help you locate some security measures in the room. Every bit of information you obtain in this way can be valuable.

Once you've located the chip, exit the Braindance. You will now need to go to the hotel with Jackie - be sure not to go straight up the elevator though, as a certain Hideo Kojima is chilling out at the bar on the ground floor.  Once you go upstairs to the room you've booked and wait, you will need to use a spider-bot - the flathead you obtained for Dex - in order to dismantle the security measures protecting Yorinobu's penthouse. After this, you can accompany Jackie to the hotel room and snatch the biochip from the back left corner, just left of the large TV pillar in the middle of the room. Unfortunately, things won't go quite as planned - take the biochip and immediately go over to hide in the large TV pillar I'm talking about, and watch the lengthy cutscene that transpires afterwards.
