Immediately after the debut of Cyberpunk 2077 – Night City Wire: Episode 3, it was revealed that the game's main campaign would be shorter than The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

When viewing Twitch's follow-up AMA with Cyberpunk 2077 senior quest designer Patrick Mills, streamer-ambassador CohhCarnage raised his eyebrow at an interesting piece of information. Mills stated, "We do know that the main story run in Cyberpunk 2077 is slightly short than Witcher 3 – because we got a lot of complaints about Witcher 3's main story just being too long  – and looking at the metrics you see tremendous numbers of people played through that game really far but never made it to the end." Although a shorter game seems like a bad thing on the surface, the developer's reasoning was sound. "We want you to see this whole story."

Responding to a related fan question less than 10 minutes later, Mills couldn't seem to dodge the topic of game-length. "I could give you a number here, but it wouldn't really answer your question." Mills elaborated, "There's a lot of content in this game – a tremendous amount of content in the game – a lot of things that you can do." Really, despite the insinuation that Cyberpunk 2077 isn't as substantial as The Witcher 3, Mills exuded confidence in the massive size of the game. Even without a staggering number for the main campaign's length, it seems clear that CD Projekt Red has packed it full of things to do. Plus, he did say that Night City is "overwhelmingly huge."

Other notable tidbits were revealed during the AMA. For instance, you can fast-travel to different computer stations – provided that you've previously visited them. Metro stations also work as a fast-travel medium. Otherwise, you can acquire an array of vehicles, each designed to automatically come to your location once summoned.

Regarding the amount of endings in Cyberpunk 2077, Mills laughed, "Ooo, that is something that we're definitely keeping secret." However, he did confirm that there are multiple endings, so get ready to bang out a bunch of different playthroughs.
