Heavy Machine Guns are (HMGs) are among the most powerful weapons in Cyberpunk 2077, but come with a limited ammo supply. However, thanks to a new discovery on Reddit, players now have an easy way to restock their supply of bullets – and bring the gun with them on the road.

In case you weren't aware, cars have a stash all their own, letting you lug weapons around with you without taking up space in your inventory. That by itself was a revelation for many players on the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit, with commenters chiming in that they have "about 60 hours" clocked in the game and knew nothing about the feature. Using the stash is easy, too. Just walk up to the trunk and interact with it to open your typical inventory screen.

But that's not all – store an HMG in your trunk and its ammo will automatically replenish. For powerful weapons with a short supply of ammo, that's a huge boon during intense firefights. We're not sure if this is a bug or feature, but as fans of the HMG, we're going to start making use of it immediately. You can see the HMG-auto-reloading action in the clip below:

Cyberpunk 2077 has been off to a rocky start, but its sales have already surpassed 13 million – even when you factor in most of the refunds. CD Projekt Red is hoping to patch out more issues in the coming year, and that'll likely include this ammo restoration bug. Make sure you join in on the fun while you can.

In other CD Projekt Red news, it looks like investors are going through with their lawsuit, as just the other day official paperwork was filed in California. Investors and those who purchased stock in the company believe that CD Projekt Red was "misleading" in its claims about Cyberpunk 2077 prior to launch. For proof of this, look no further than Cyberpunk 2077 running on a base PS4 or Xbox One. We're sure to hear more as we head into 2021, so stay tuned in the coming weeks for more details.
