In Cyberpunk 2077, where the rich are affluent and separated from the poverty-struck middle class, there are rival factions that compete against each other. You can decide to side with authority or fight for gangs. This bold and ambitious project is one of the most (if not the most) anticipated games of 2020.

Role-playing is an essential part of Cyberpunk 2077. It contains an environment that is ripe for exploration. This game is swiftly approaching, and we couldn't be more ecstatic. This is everything we know about Cyberpunk 2077.

Updated on the 11th of March, 2020 by Anastasia Maillot: Following the announcement by CD Projekt Red that Cyberpunk 2077 would in fact not see its release in April like initially intended, fans have been forced to wait longer for one of the most anticipated titles of 2020.

While developers are busy putting the final touch on the game until its release in September, it's a great time to recap everything that we know for the game. With some additional hints and details out, we're sharing five additional facts and features we know are coming for the game.

15 There Will Be Mini Games

While the game will be filled to the brim with main and side quests, players will also have a selection of small mini-games available. These will probably be introduced to earn a bit of extra money or as part of a larger quest, as tiny challenges or tasks the player needs to complete.

Mini-games vary from boxing to hacking, and even include activities like race cars, shooting ranges and martial arts. There's just about everything a 2077 mercenary could hope to do available in Night City.

14 V Will Have Their Own Apartment

Already revealed in some of the gameplay demos, players were shown to V's apartment, which is a tiny studio located in the heart of a mega apartment complex. Here, V can store items, sleep and invite NPCs over for romance, and most likely purchase consumables to heal.

There's also a garage available in the game, which will no doubt house any and all vehicles that V will have, from cars to motorbikes. It's unclear how much more the apartment will influence gameplay, but there might even be a possibility that other, fancier apartments will be available on the market for purchase.

13 There Will Be DLCs

Those who are more than familiar with The Witcher 3 will know that CD Projekt Red doesn't take its DLCs lightly. The Witcher 3 saw the addition of Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, which brought massive amounts of new features and gameplay into the original base game.

The developers for Cyberpunk 2077 have already confirmed the game will continue to expand and live on through DLCs. No doubt they will unlock brand new areas, factions and even abilities for players within Night City, which is an exciting possibility.

12 The World Will Be Dynamic

From what we know, the world of Cyberpunk 2077 will be a hyper immersive open-world experience. V's actions will directly impact the environment, and the random encounters and events that might be triggered. There's also a realistic day-night cycle and a unique weather system, which will bring Night City alive.

The environment can be interacted with in many ways. Many of the demos show tons of pedestrians around. Law enforcement will also be patrolling the streets, and so decisions and actions when others are around will have immediate consequences.

11 Character Builds Will Be Detailed

The character builds in Cyberpunk 2077 are some of the most interesting ones so far. Three classes can be chosen from: netrunner, tech, or solo combat. The game also introduces attributes, which are: body, intelligence, reflexes, technical, and cool. Players can mix and match to create their perfect V.

Different perks will tie to different kinds of weapons and fighting styles as well. Three types of damage can be dealt with in the game: thermal, emp and chemical. With a wide variety of weapons, as well as gunsmiths and Ripperdocs available for upgrades, players will be able to create unique and powerful builds.

10 It's Being Developed By CD Projekt

The development company behind The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is working on Cyberpunk 2077. Of course, we see similarities between the two games. Both are player-driven role-playing games where your choices influence the game's events.

Although, the two games have different themes. One is played with swords and magic, and the other involves guns and tech-savviness. Don't expect Cyberpunk 2077 to be anything like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt—but naturally, there will be some parallels between the two games.

9 The Game Is Set In Night City

It's not always night in Night City, but there are certainly times when the city feels gloomy. We know that the city is a Californian city in the United States of America. In the pen and paper Cyberpunk role-playing game series, Night City was voted "the worst place to live in America."

Night City will come with six unique areas that can be explored: City Center, Watson, Westbrook, Heywood, Pacifica, Santo Domingo and the surrounding Badlands outside of Night City. Each area will have its own socio-economic status and unique atmosphere.

8 Detailed Character Appearance

As a role-playing game, naturally, character customization is a fundamental part of the game. Unlike The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, however, the main character will be a character of choice. You'll be able to customize everything from gender, name, facial features, and more.

The character creation screen will allow you to change the background of the character. This means you'll be selecting a story for the protagonist before the game starts. Players can choose between three origins: street kid, nomad or corpo.

7 It's Going To Have Mature Themes

It could be a good or a bad thing that Cyberpunk 2077 is going to have graphic content. The sales for the game could be impacted since a group of gamers will be restricted from playing the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 has nudity, swearing, and is probably not meant for kids. The game hasn't released yet, so it doesn't have an ESRB rating. But we're guessing that Cyberpunk 2077 will have a rated M for mature rating when it releases. At least the game is going for realism.

6 Cyberspace Explained

Cyberspace is kind of like entering the Matrix, except for the fact Keanu Reeves isn't in the game. Correction, Cyberspace is a lot like The Matrix, and Keanu Reeves is in Cyberpunk 2077. There are some definite parallels between the high acclaimed movie and this game.

Cyberspace is a dark and dangerous place that you connect to while in a bathtub. The purpose of the tub is to avoid getting fried. Cyberspace takes place in the past, and as a Netrunner, you can access it as a CPU. It's all very confusing, but this is the gist of it.

5 Keanu Reeves Is In The Game!?!?!

Having A-list actors appear in video games is not a revolutionary idea. Over the years, numerous top actors have starred in video games. We've seen actors like Rami Malek, Kevin Spacey, Kiefer Sutherland, 50 Cent, and Martin Sheen play a character who looks like them in video games.

We know that Keanu Reeves will be playing a character named Johnny Sutherland, a vigilante who will have a significant influence in the game. He wears sunglasses and has a robotic arm. Already, this character sounds like a rebel.

4 Romance Options Confirmed

One thing that seems to stand out in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, when compared to other games, is its romance options. It is confirmed, you can romance other players in Cyberpunk 2077. Moreover, you can romance other NPCs of the same sex, opening up the possibility for bisexual, gay, and straight relationships.

If this is something that appeals to you, then Cyberpunk 2077 is the game to get. It will have more romance options than The Witcher 3, so its side questlines are bound to be interesting.

3 How About The Gameplay?

From what we've seen so far, the gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077 is mostly played in the first-person. It's one of the most anticipated games of 2020 (if not the most), and it's going to have fresh gameplay elements. For example, Cyberpunk 2077 is going to feature drivable cars, first-person shooting, an intuitive map, and rival factions.

The gang presence in the game is apparent from the get-go. You, the protagonist, will either side with them or fight against them. You'll feel like a Terminator come to life in this futuristic fantasy.

2 Multiplayer Has Been Confirmed

According to pcgamer.com, "CD Projekt Red has officially confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will have a multiplayer component." Multiplayer is likely still in the back burner since CD Projekt has shared few details. Multiplayer was not a part of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but this is a new game so it shouldn't matter.

When multiplayer does come to Cyberpunk 2077, it will likely be some time after the release of the game. Think of Red Dead Redemption 2's delayed multiplayer launch. We don't know how expansive Cyberpunk 2077's multiplayer will be, but let's hope it's as enthralling as Red Dead Redemption 2's.

1 It's Been Delayed

Games that take long to develop can either set you up for disappointment or make you think the wait was worth it. However, with CD Projekt Red's track record, we can safely assume the game will be a perfect, finished product by the time it hits the shelves. The extra time the delay provides will allow developers to optimize and polish the game to their best ability.

The game is currently scheduled to release on September 17, 2020. It will come to platforms such as PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. As of now, there are no plans to port Cyberpunk 2077 to the Nintendo Switch.
