A Reddit user has discovered a secret weapon that Cyberpunk 2077 character Evelyn Parker may be hiding in plain sight. The aspiring actress promises to be a lethal weapon on the streets of Night City, one that protagonist V will want on their side.
Redditor ‘huanovec’ made a discovery about Doll House worker Evelyn Parker, who appears to disguise harmful cyberware as fingertip jewelry. After coming across a description of carbo-glas claws called Rippers, the Redditor made a quick comparison to Parker’s fingertips that are covered by metal sheaths. Rippers appear to be exactly what Parker is concealing in her character profile picture posted by CD Projekt Red last month.
Rippers are described as “heavier versions of scratchers”, according to the Cyberpunk 2077 Fandom page. The top half of each finger is replaced on the subject with plastic and metal sheaths that contain 3 inch carbo-glas claws. By making a catlike claw motion with the hand, the rippers can be activated, and have the ability to cut in every direction. If Parker’s weapons weren’t concealed enough to the ignorant, most characters are reported to wear false fingernails over the metal caps to be even more inconspicuous.
Other Redditors declared their ambition to have Parker on their side during gameplay, as her feline attributes would be advantageous as an ally. ‘Mikodz’ was an advocate for adding “poison injections” to the rippers, which quickly attracted multiple Gom Jabbar references from author Frank Herbert’s Dune series. Aside from various sexual jokes being thrown into the mix, Parker’s fierce fingertips were a generally welcomed discovery.
The official twitter account of Cyberpunk 2077 described the character of Evelyn Parker as “intelligent and ambitious”, who seeks more fulfillment in her life. Aspiring to become an actress, Parker’s sensibility brought her to the Doll House, presumably situated in Night City. What was intended to be a temporary place of work became “something much more permanent,” as Parker’s journey towards her career goal came to a halt.
Parker will appear in the prologue of Cyberpunk 2077, and possesses vital information regarding the heist that Dexter DeShawn has hired V and Jackie to orchestrate. Players will first meet Parker in Lizzie’s Bar, where V will be able to relive her memories via an immersive virtual reality known as Braindance.
