Love it or hate it, Cyberpunk 2077's Night City is a dangerous and hostile place for just about everyone. Gangs run amuck and it seems that just about everyone on the street is packing heat, and it's just a matter of time before a stray bullet finds your head.

This can lead to plenty of opportunities, intentional or not, for you to engage in some less-than-lawful interactions. It doesn't matter who shot first in Night City; the cops will show no hesitation in putting you down once you're on their radar. If you need to get the fuzz off your back, here's how to lose the police in Cyberpunk 2077.

Mind Your Business

This might seem obvious, but avoiding engaging in an illegal activity might be the best move. If you happen to get into a shootout, provoke a civilian, or even point your gun at the wrong person, the Night City police will appear, sometimes literally, to take you down.

You can stand your ground and fight if you want, but that can lead to very long, costly, and often deadly encounters as your wanted level increases, something that you'd be much better off avoiding.

Hop In Your Getaway Car

Let's say the situation was unavoidable and you find yourself in a problematic situation, then your safest bet to escape from the law is your ever-trustful vehicle. Cars, trucks, and bikes are always much faster than trying to escape on foot, as the NCPD isn't always invested in high-speed chases.

Keep in mind that not all vehicles sport the same speed capacity so be sure to choose your best vehicle, and once you're within enough distance away from the police, you will be basically good to go and find a place to rest while your wanted level lowers down.

Head For Cover

Going indoors is a fantastic way to avoid the police, and while it might seem like you're just putting yourself into a corner, the NCPD has a very short attention span and they're pretty much useless fighting indoors. If you dive into a store and close the door behind you, you might as well have built an impenetrable wall between you and your pursuers.

After that, just hang out for a while until they get bored and decide to head home. The same trick will work if you're near an elevator, just dive in, pick any floor, and ride up to a clean criminal record.

Run For It

If everything else fails, your car doesn't arrive soon enough, and there's no safe haven for you to get inside, then the best option for you is to...run. Yes, run.

Night City is a massive, labyrinthian megalopolis, and as difficult as it can get depending on how wanted you are by the cops, you can use the many narrow streets and passages to your advantage. You can also see where the cops are and where they're looking on your mini-map, so find the most direct route and run away as fast as possible.
