Keanu Reeves is a very breathtaking individual, having starred in some of the best action movies of all-time, including Speed, The Matrix, and John Wick. Of course, these are only a few notable movies from his illustrious career, which will soon include his role as Johnny Silverhand in the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt RED. However, it should be noted that he won't be a romance option in the 2020 game.

PC Gamer confirmed the disapointing news in their reporting on an interview between VGC and Cyberpunk 2077 level designer Max Pears. Pears and VGC had discussed the romance elements of Cyberpunk 2077, including gender and romance options and customization, as well as physical attributes.

For example, the game is exploring relationships beyond heterosexual ones. It will give you the option of pursuing same-sex relationships and will include a variety of other options like body types and more.

There are, however, limits to the romance option. Silverhand, as mentioned earlier, will not be a romance option. Pears stated, "Keanu plays a crucial role in the game, but as for the option to romance him, I don’t believe you can.”

This has come as sad news to some Matrix fans out there. Johnny Silverhand appears to be a very slick and cool character, so it would have been nice to be able to pursue a romantic relationship there. Some of those disappointed in the decision to make Johnny Silverhand a character unable to romantically bond with have voiced their sadness on Twitter.

As can be seen in the tweets above, some people are quite upset over Keanu Reeves being an important supporting character but nothing beyond that. The man is almost universally loved, spawning many feel-good memes from his E3 2019 appearance and otherwise being recognized by his reported selfless deeds as revealed by his many co-stars over the years. In other words, if there is one Hollywood celebrity everyone wants to meet, it's Keanu Reeves.

Yet, it is too bad we won't have the option to bond with him in Cyberpunk 2077. It's possible this dream will come true in a Keanu-Kojima collaboration, but that shouldn't be counted on.
