Cyberpunk 2077’s 1.6 update was released last week with a host of quality-of-life improvements. For starters, Sir John Phallustiff will now cause your controller to vibrate ceaselessly. That should be more than enough to get Cyberpunk fans excited, but it was also called the Edgerunners update since it added a new quest inspired by the upcoming Netflix anime, as well as some cosmetics and a new gun taken directly from the show.

You won’t find this anywhere in the patch notes, but update 1.6 also brought mouse and keyboard support to consoles. Or at least one console.

Reddit user PurpleMessi (via GameSpot) reported on the official Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit that they were able to get the game working with mouse and keyboard on their Xbox Series X. Unfortunately, replies in the comments state that the same wasn’t true on PlayStation 5, where mouse and keyboard still won’t work despite the console supporting it for other games.

Mouse and keyboard support on consoles has been another long-requested feature for Cyberpunk 2077, alongside the recently introduced transmog and Ripper Doc upgrades. It seems likely that the M&K support on Xbox just slipped into the update without being documented and additional support for PlayStation will be included in a future update, but we'll have to wait for CD Projekt Red to confirm.

Last week also saw the announcement of an official modding tool for Cyberpunk that will certainly lead to an explosion of mods, as well as a single planned DLC. Phantom Liberty will put V in collaboration with the new US government, but it doesn't sound like Johnny Silverhand is on board to team up with Uncle Sam. Phantom Liberty is also skipping previous-gen consoles, so Xbox One and PS4 players will have to get a hardware upgrade to experience the new DLC.
