We've done it folks – we've reached the pinnacle of gaming. Cyberpunk 2077 might be riddled with bugs and performance issues on PS4 and Xbox One, but CD Projekt Red kept its promise of offering a true next-gen experience. Don't believe me? What if I told you V ducks their head while riding a motorbike to avoid collisions?

Now that's the next-gen gaming I'm here for.

Sarcasm aside, it's actually a pretty cool little feature. I've not seen much like it in other games, and no doubt it’s a cool touch – that is, for anyone who can properly run the game on a next-gen console or PC. A video posted to Reddit shows the feature in action – when V gets too close to a column with an overhead obstacle, they'll duck down on the bike, giving them just enough space to drive underneath without wrecking their face. You can check it out below:

It's pretty accurate too, as you can see V won't duck until the very last second, and he'll only duck if he's perfectly in line with the obstacle. A few times during the footage V is a couple feet away from the column and – when the player drives past it – he won't duck out of the way. It's definitely a sweet programming trick, but one that's probably bittersweet for last-gen players.

Commenters point out other nuances they've noticed while driving around Night City, including V turning their head while passing points of interest such as a crime event. They'll also turn their head in the direction of the camera if no POI is nearby. Others discuss the more noticeable issues with driving – like ramming headfirst into a wall or exiting a speeding vehicle with no repercussions. It's an odd mixture of nuance and lack of polish, and we hope things get squared away in 2021.

Cyberpunk 2077 might not be the game we all expected it to be, but it's still putting up impressive sales numbers. Over 13 million copies have already been sold after you take into account most of the refunds. If only the people who returned the game knew about V ducking under obstacles, I'm sure they would've changed their mind…
