Amazon and Best Buy have both slashed the price of Cyberpunk 2077 to just $29.99. The title still has its fair share of problems but, if you're interested in picking it up, now's the time to do so.

There are a few limitations to the sale, however, as it only relates to the physical version of Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 and Xbox One. Still, this is among the cheapest ways to get your hands on the highly anticipated game. It's not without its flaws, but CD Projekt Red is promising it will see massive improvements in 2021.

Unfortunately, the price cut doesn't seem to be permanent, and there's no indication as to when the sale will end. We'd recommend moving quickly if you're hoping to take advantage of the savings. If you still have a few gift cards lying around from the holidays, now is the time to use them.

The latest bit of drama for CD Projekt Red's title revolves around its E3 2018 showcase. According to new reports, the footage shown during the event was fake – in fact, the developer hadn't even "finalized and coded the underlying gameplay systems."

Adam Badowski, head of studio of CD Projekt Red, has since posted a statement about the controversy. "It's hard for a trade show game demo not to be a test of vision or vertical slice two years before the game ships, but that doesn't mean it's fake," read his statement. "Games are not made in a linear fashion and start looking like the final product only a few months before launch. If you look at that demo now, it's different yes, but that's what the 'work in progress' watermark is for. Our final game looks and plays way better than what that demo ever was."

Take from that what you will, but no doubt many people are still mightily unhappy with the final product. If you temper your expectations, however, there's a lot of fun to be had – especially for just $29.99.
