In a new round of negative Cyberpunk 2077 updates, GOG has issued a warning pertaining to PC save data, adding to the elongated list of technical issues with the game. In its troubleshooting support page, GOG now explains that save files can be damaged and left unplayable if going over a specific data limit, requiring affected players to load a new save or start a completely new game.

There goes any possibility of abusing that item duplication glitch and, for that matter, PC being considered the best platform to play.

From forgotten in-game shard text to random NPC's T-posing, Cyberpunk 2077 is riddled with myriad problems, now causing CD Projekt Red to issue a variety of refund options. Even leading to Sony, in an unprecedented move, delisting the game from its store page. The far-future video game, primed to be one of this year's most popular releases, has spiraled into chaos for many of its players, even those on PC, which for all intents and purposes was considered to be the best place to experience Night City.

Now, however, it seems many PC players are facing troubles by way of exceeding a save data cap of a mere 8MB, due largely to an in-game duplication glitch allowing players to have basically unlimited crafting potential. The GOG support page reads as follows:

"Unfortunately the save is damaged and can't be recovered. Please use an older save file to continue playing and try to keep a lower amount of items and crafting materials. If you used the item duplication glitch, please load a save file not affected by it. The save file size limit might be increased in one of the future patches, but the corrupted files will remain that way."

Without surprising anyone, only four out of the 137 voters found this article helpful, given the fact that it doesn't even give a specific number on what the save file limit size is and it seems CDPR is ignoring this problem for the foreseeable future.

If affected and your game shows the above image, it's best to just reload from an earlier point in the game, or simply start from scratch - both of which are, without a doubt, annoying troubleshooting options in a game already crammed with irritations. To avoid getting hit with this save data corruption, it's best to limit your crafting for a time, at least until this problem has been amended or the data limit is increased.

CDPR's stock continues to tumble as more negative Cyberpunk 2077 news circulates, and it's bound to only get worse from here.
