Photo mode is basically becoming a must-have for modern games. How else do you expect streamers to make great custom thumbnails?

But also, it’s just great for social media. Letting everyone take custom pictures using the in-game engine not only satisfies the shutterbugs in the Cyberpunk audience, but it’s also generating free advertising when everyone starts sharing their pictures online.

Even if you don't want to become a Cyberpunk Instagram star, Cyberpunk 2077's photo mode sure seems extensive. There's multiple different options for effects, depth of field, stickers, aperture sizes, frames, contrast, exposure, chromatic aberration, and many more settings that would only make sense to an actual photographer and not someone who's only ever taken a picture using a cell phone.

There are also poses, which allow you to place your subject in whatever stance you prefer. One of them is called "V for Victory," which is basically the same as the Praise the Sun pose from Dark Souls.

This is likely to be just the first of many references to other games made in Cyberpunk 2077.

We're just days away from Cyberpunk 2077 being unleashed on PC and consoles, and the hype train is definitely on its express schedule and will not stop at any local stations. We've got people making Cyberpunk machinimas, major GPU retailers making Cyberpunk-themed video cards, and rival developers wisely deciding to stand out of Cyberpunk's way lest they be crushed beneath this runaway freight train of a game.

But not all Cyberpunk 2077 stories are about rabid fanboys. At least one person realized that December is the month of giving, and that means giving to those less fortunate. A feel-good story shared on Reddit tells how a Cyberpunk fan gave away their copy to a poor gamer who couldn't afford a Cyberpunk of their own this Christmas.

That's the kind of humanity we really need to get over what has got to be the worst year in modern memory.

Cyberpunk 2077 arrives on December 10. Get ready.
