With just a few weeks left before Cyberpunk 2077 is finally released all over the world, excitement is really ramping up. First Nvidia released a bunch of never-before-seen gameplay running at its highest settings on PC. Then it was officially announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will launch with an in-depth photo mode. Now, it seems that physical copies of CD Projekt Red's newest blockbuster have already been spotted in the wild.
A Reddit user by the name of Justgonnasendit90 recently posted an image of the game's PS4 case, claiming to have held it in his hands.
The user explains that they snagged photo of the game's case through their job at Amazon. While proof of the actual game being finished is a relief for many after the multiple delays that hit Cyberpunk 2077, it could also mean bad news for those who don't want the game's narrative spoiled for them. If one person can get their hands on a physical edition, then it is likely others can nab an early copy and potentially ruin the game for others.
Unfortunately, leaks are not an uncommon occurrence in the video game world. For example, Naughty Dog suffered from a massive leak before the release of The Last of Us Part 2. As a result, it may be wise for those who wish to avoid spoilers to tread lightly while browsing the internet over the next few weeks.
The photo of the case also reveals a few details about the upcoming game. The PS4 case showcases a sticker confirming that upgrading to the PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 will come at no additional cost. The package also confirms that the game will come on two Blu-Ray discs (at least the PS4 version), and those who nab a physical PS4 copy will also gain a world compendium, stickers, postcards, and a game map, on top of digital content access.
Cyberpunk 2077 is out for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and Google Stadia on December 10, 2020.
