CD Projekt Red finally got around to releasing footage of Cyberpunk 2077 running on both PS5 and PS4 Pro. The PS5 version is a definite step above PS4 Pro, but both PS5 and PS4 Pro versions look very similar to their Xbox One X and Xbox Series X counterparts.

The new gameplay is nearly seven minutes long, offering a glimpse at the character creator, Lifepath selector, and a lengthy sequence of vehicular combat. You'll see gameplay taken directly from the Nomad path, which is one of the three playable backstories you can pick before jumping into the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Much of the gameplay takes place in the desert around Night City, known as the Badlands, but quickly changes pace, as V finds themselves smack in the middle of the neon lights.

No doubt the action looks better running on PS5, but the PS4 Pro is no slouch, either. Pictures don't do either version justice – so check out the video below to see the two games in action:

It's worth pointing out that, while Cyberpunk 2077 will look better on PS5 and Series X on launch day, a true next-gen patch won't be released after launch. This news was released by CD Projekt Red back in June – and a lot has happened since then – so you'd be forgiven if it slipped your mind. According to an old tweet from the Cyberpunk 2077 account, "A later upgrade to Cyberpunk 2077, taking full advantage of the next-gen hardware, will be available for free. That means all the PS5 footage in the above clip is just the PS4 version running via backwards compatibility.

If you're still playing at "a later date" – which is very likely – expect Night City to look even better on your next-gen consoles.

Cyberpunk 2077 is just about two weeks away, and a lot of new content has been pouring out ahead of its release. We've learned about a nudity toggle option, how CD Projekt Red pieced together its soundtrack, and we even heard more about the Photo Mode that will be available to us at launch. Hopefully this latest gameplay footage can whet your appetite until Cyberpunk 2077 hits store shelves on December 10.
