One of the gangs in Cyberpunk 2077 are The Mox - a group of people who used to work for the other gangs. Many Moxes are sex workers.

“I think saying it’s a gang of sex workers is a bit of a simplification,” quest director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz explained. “It’s like a group that was composed of people that were working for the gangs in the past, right? A lot of sex workers were working for the gangs, but they wanted to become independent, so to speak. I like to think of them as a workers’ union, basically, who can protect their own, and they have their own territory and so on.”

We asked CD Projekt Red how sex work is portrayed in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Apparently, one of the most popular offerings are a thing called “doll houses”.

Doll houses are a place where people can go to live out their fantasies, and they don’t even have to say what those fantasies are. A sex worker hooks into their brain, digs down into the deepest recesses, and finds out what you want.

Equipped with a range of cyberware, they can transform themselves to fit your desires. Once the job is done, they erase their own memory of the event, presumably to prevent any embarrassment for the client.

“Doll houses are this concept that is quite interesting, in terms of the Cyberpunk world,” Tomaszkiewicz said. “Imagine you have people who have specific cyberware that allows them to attune to the client. And after the job is done, it allows them to forget what they were doing during the session.

“Imagine that the sex worker - the doll - attuned to you, and they can realise your fantasies, deeply hidden desires, and things that are pushed into your subconscious - maybe you don’t even think about them too much. Some of them are also part of the Moxes, and they are gathering different kinds of sex workers throughout the city.”

There are also some sex-based augmentations in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. There’s Mrs. Midnight, a cyberware that gives you a fashionable vagina. There’s also Mr. Stud, in case you ever wanted a chrome dong. If you want a new body part, Night City has it, so long as you have the eddies.

CD Projekt Red just released a new video talking about the different gangs of Night City, and you can read our full deep dive interview about the gangs in Cyberpunk 2077 at that link.

If you're wondering how the police operate, we learned that good cops are the exception to the rule in Cyberpunk 2077. You also won't see emergent gang battles, since almost everything is hand-crafted in Cyberpunk 2077.

Cyberpunk 2077 is releasing for PS4, Xbox One, next-gen, and PC on November 19.
