As if Cyberpunk 2077 wasn't immersive enough, lead quest designer Pawel Sasko has revealed that players will have three separate prologues available that will change based on the initial choice.

With the repetitive nature of action RPGs in the past, these last few years have been a refreshing change for the industry. When CD Projekt Red introduced its newest title Cyberpunk 2077, it took the world by storm and many praised it for its out of box thinking. Not only is the game giving us a glimpse of the new possibilities for game designers thanks to new technology, but it also gives us a title that fully immerses players into the environment in a whole new way. Now, Sasko's comments seem to indicate that the company has gone even further to ensure that full immersion happens.

While the use of multiple prologues based on choices isn't anything new, it's good news for those who were hoping for a unique experience from start to finish. Given the cost of games these days, it shows that CD Projekt Red is determined to change the perception of the industry and go back to creating games that don't just offer good gameplay, but also a compelling story.

According to WCCF Tech, players will have the chance to unlock three different prologues. Sasko went on to state: “The player in Cyberpunk 2077 can create a custom character that has one of three origin stories, that we call lifepaths: you can be Nomad, Corpo, or Street Kid." While he wasn't specific on how your first choice will impact other parts of the story, it's safe to say that there will be multiple layers of complexity involved.

The fact that Sasko has given thought to the very first choice in the game indicates that he wants players to think about each choice they make throughout the game as it will directly impact their experience. In this way, the publisher can create a truly unique experience that is very true to life.

While this is certainly good news to hear, it's sad that it has become major news since so many games focus more on gameplay than on storyline. If Cyberpunk 2077 becomes the immediate hit that many expect it to be, it could drive other companies to do the same with their own storylines, which would be a good thing for gamers.
