Cyberpunk 2077 has seen its first behind-the-scenes update in three months.

Although we're not quite sure what's to come, we do know that Cyberpunk 2077 is getting more content and more free updates throughout 2022. CD Projket Red has been surprisingly quiet about it over the last few months, but thanks to SteamDB, it's clear that something is happening soon.

As pointed out by Redditor AssCrack_42069 on the Cyberpunk 2077 subreddit, SteamDB has registered a new non-public update for Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam. According to the database, a new update was added to Cyberpunk on January 14, just a few days ago.

Because the update is non-public, it's clear that CD Projekt Red is just testing the contents of whatever it is working on, but it's worth noting that it's the first update to come to the game since October 28. That update was another non-public one, so it's not clear what sort of content it was adding, but it's interesting that there was such a big gap between the most recent update and the one before that.

Beyond the non-public updates, the last update registered for Cyberpunk 2077 was from September 14. This was Patch 1.31 and is the last official update that CD Projekt Red detailed for Cyberpunk, which lends some credence to the appearance of several non-public updates over the past few months.

It's also worth noting that CD Projekt Red recently changed the roadmap for Cyberpunk 2077 content, shifting the free updates and current-gen versions of the game to a vague "Early 2022". Considering we're now in the early stages of 2022 and that the update was originally planned for late last year, it's possible that this latest non-public update is testing content for the impending release.

As you might expect, the Cyberpunk subreddit has instantly taken to making fun of the update and assuming that whatever it adds is going to be small. One winning comment says, "Patch notes: removed unused clothing, fixed where Panam's hand slightly clips through a fence in a hidden cutscene, updated DLSS, added Penis 3".
