Cyberpunk 2077 and bugs has been one of the gaming world’s best love stories. You’d expect flying cars and body enhancing mods in the future, but not quite in the way the game’s glitches have showcased. CD Projekt Red recently released Patch 1.23, just ahead of the game’s return to PlayStation platforms; but as with most earlier updates, it seems to have broken an existing feature.

This was the case, as pointed out by redditor Mr-Pirate-Fox, who posted a video of the fog acting up in their game. The video shows a fog covered Night City with the neon skyline barely visible through the thickness. However, the fog disappears and the skyline pops into clarity as soon as the player takes a few steps forward. It goes back to the original setting when they take a few steps back.

We know that this issue is not a case of slow texture-popping as the fog pops in and out as the player cycles towards and away from it. It appears that the latest update may have messed with the game’s fog system.

Patch 1.2 is currently live on PC, Xbox consoles, and Google Stadia. It has addressed a number of quest related issues that were impeding story progression. The developer also mentioned that memory optimizations and memory management improvements will make game crashes less likely.

It appears that Sony and CD Projekt Red have finally come to an agreement on relisting the game on the PlayStation Store. According to Axios Gaming’s Stephen Totilo, the game will be available for purchase once more on PlayStation on June 21. PlayStation users who previously owned the game were once again able to download it earlier this week. New purchases were still not possible however.

We had earlier reported that Sony and CD Projekt Red had agreed upon a “process” to bring the game back onto the platform. While we don’t know what this process exactly was, it was presumably a roadmap of performance and bug fixing updates aimed at bringing the game up to the expected mark. However, an announcement from Sony mentioned that the company “recommends playing the title on PS4 Pro or PS5 for the best experience."
