Last week saw the release of Daemon X Machina, the new mech action game for Nintendo Switch. While not receiving the same amount of pre-release hype as Astral Chain or this week's Link's Awakening, Daemon X Machina was still highly anticipated for fans of the mech genre. One of the most challenging aspects of the game is the boss battles, which require careful, on-the-go strategy. The final boss battle is no joke, giving players a true test of their mettle (and metal). If you find yourself feeling frustrated with this annoying battle, don't fret; he is certainly beatable.

Arsenal Build And Outer Upgrades

One of the first questions one is likely to ask is which Arsenal setup is most useful. Some players are reporting using swords or heavy weapons like shotguns to get the win. While this can work, if you just try to beat him this way, it will likely become tedious. If you have been using a particular Arsenal setup up until this point, you can keep it the same. This is because you actually won't be using your weapons all too much in winning the fight.

Make sure you have upgraded your Outer character in the lab. It can be easy to forget, but there are numerous upgrades in the lab that are superbly useful. If you have not been upgrading your Outer, do so now with the "Repair" upgrade. This will enable you to heal your Arsenal's VP. Get as many upgrades as you can, then go back into the boss fight.

Claiming The Win

Upon entering the boss fight, descend as quickly as you can to the center and stay behind the pillar. This pillar will be your best friend in avoiding the Dominator's melting ray. In addition to that ray, the villain will out yellow beams and rush into the player like a sharp Beyblade. At the start of the battle, feel free to shoot the Dominator with a strong weapon from behind the pillar. After he twirls, you can go in for  a melee attack, like a sword. However, what the game doesn't tell you is that in the center of the ring, there are numerous canisters that can be picked up and thrown. These are going to be your keys to victory.

The Dominator has a special gravity weapon that can suck you in. If you don't escape, he will steal one of your weapons. It's possible to eventually lose all your weapons to this beam. Although the canisters will be your main source of attack, you don't want to lose your weapons. Stay on the ground when he's about to shoot this, because it can be hard to dash out of it in the air.

Now, to win the battle, be on the move when necessary and pick up canisters. Look for an opening to throw them. One of the best times is right after he does his twirling attack. The Dominator is pretty quick, so chances are you will be missing some thrown canisters. Mix in some shoulder weapons or firearms. The Dominator will also send out drones. These pests can do a little damage, so feel free to destroy them, but do not put yourself in firing range of the Dominator. Don't forget to use the pillar. The drones will eventually disappear, but come back later.

Towards the end of the fight, the Dominator shoots out two massive melting rays. Do not be in the center of these, because they can take off a chunk of health. Instead, go to the side, and use this opportunity to throw a canister. The boss has another attack that can be destroyed. If you find yourself low on VP, hide behind the pillar or try dashing away to another part of the stage and heal using the Outer.

In summary, use the canisters for maximum damage. Don't worry too much about your Arsenal build. Upgrade your Outer and look for Repair. Use the pillar for cover, and stay on the ground to avoid losing your weapons to the gravity attack. If you find throwing canisters annoying, mix in your weapons, but rely more on the thrown item because it does over 1,000 damage points. Follow this guide, and you will be on your way to completing Daemon X Machina.
