This Overwatch League offseason has been tough for fans as some of the most beloved players in the league announced their retirements and stepped away from professional play. The list of legends continues to grow as the Dallas Fuel took to Twitter to announce that Pongphop "Mickie" Rattanasangchod will make the transition from playing to being a full-time content creator with Team Envy - the organization behind Dallas.

Mickie has one of the most likeable personalities in the game and was a driving force in the community. The former Dennis Hawelka Award winner, Mickie brought a certain energy into everything he did and shined a light for not only the Dallas Fuel, but for the Overwatch League as a whole. From his interviews to on-stage antics, Mickie made his mark on the league despite transitioning away from playing in it.

Mickie saw a substantial amount of playtime during the 2018 season of the Overwatch League where he helped lead a late-season resurgence for a struggling Dallas Team. Unfortunately in 2019, Mickie saw little playtime throughout the season and fans were wondering when he would get his chance to shine on stage once more. Consistent playtime never came for Mickie and as the season came to an end, his future as a professional player would be questioned.

Then the news came. Though his time in the Overwatch League has come to an end, Mickie is able to continue his legacy with Team Envy as a content creator. The exact details aren't specified for now, but his presence is going to be felt more again as he gets settled into his new role. Staying with Team Envy is a big move for both Mickie and Team Envy as he has been a part of the organization since 2016 where he helped lead the North American team to a championship in Apex Season One (a legendary, pre-OWL Korean tournament that was highly regarded as the top of professional Overwatch) and earning MVP honors along the way.

The good news is Mickie will have an opportunity to continue his legacy with Team Envy in a different capacity, being himself and bringing joy and positivity along the way.
