Glowstick Entertainment has announced that Dark Deception: Monsters & Mortals Silent Hill DLC will be released in February. The game, which was launched for PC via Steam last November, released its first DLC, a chapter in collaboration with Monstrum, a first-person survival horror game created by Team Junkfish, in December.

Steam describes Dark Deception: Monsters & Mortals as “a multiplayer horror game where players take on the role of monsters and mortals from the Dark Deception universe (and others) and battle each other in nightmarish mazes.” In the game, mortals must explore the map and collect crystals to open up a portal and escape from a monster that is hunting them.

The trailer for Dark Deception: Monsters & Mortal features scenes from Silent Hill 2 and 3. This is the second horror game to get Silent Hill DLC after Dead by Daylight, which featured Cheryl, Pyramid Head, a Midwich Elementary School map, and a Cybil costume.

Glowstick Entertainment, an indie development studio that specializes in single player and multiplayer horror games for PC, mobile, console, and VR/AR platforms, is best known for Dark Deception, Farmocalypse, and Ayano's Lovesick Labyrinth. The original Dark Deception was released September 27, 2018, and received mostly positive reviews on Steam.

According to Vince Livings, the founder and CEO of Glowstick Entertainment, “The idea for Dark Deception came from the need to create a quick game. At first, we were focused on mobile since it is a larger market. I really wanted to make a horror game, but we wanted to make something that wouldn’t take us too long since we are a small two man team.”

“Pac-Man was one of the first games that we thought of. Mazes and horror go together pretty well, and we were both excited about the idea of making a game based on that. I felt the game needed to feel like a cinematic experience that would really immerse players. In the past, games like Resident Evil, Portal, and Silent Hill were very story driven. I loved those games, and they were a big influence,” he added.
