Dark Souls 3 was the culmination of a beloved trilogy and FromSoftware did an excellent job at concluding arguably its greatest contribution to the video game industry. Not only did the game call back to the previous entries, but it also followed in the footsteps of said games in terms of giving people plenty of unique weapons to try out.

Not all of the Dark Souls weapons are effective or useful, but the developers do a good job of providing plenty of choices and throwing in some items that have astounding unique abilities to them.

10 Yorshka's Spear

Dark Souls 3 Weapons Yorshka Spear

Yorshka's Spear isn't exactly exciting when it comes to its damage output and in terms of pure use, it's rather basic and barebones. The design of it is what makes it feel unique as it happens to be equal parts spear and hammer.

It was gifted to the Yorshka Church and thus was named appropriately. It falls into the side of the Dark Souls fandom where the priority is to look cool. Doing good damage to enemies and making efficient builds comes second or third in the list of priorities.

9 Demon's Scar

Dark Souls 3 Weapons Demon Scar

In the world of high fantasy, there are few weapons cooler than the image of a flaming sword. Realistically it may be impractical to use, but they are highly sought after in video games. The Demon's Scar is a DLC weapon that can be found in the Ringed City and is entirely made of flames.

It does zero physical damage to the enemy, but in return, it does pure fire damage to anything that crosses its path. The Soul of the Demon Prince is used to create this weapon via the transposition process.

8 Smough's Great Hammer

Dark Souls 3 Weapons SMough Hammer

It'd be hard to not include either Ornstein or Smough in a Dark Souls article. Though neither of them truly appears in Dark Souls 3, it's a comforting feeling for players to stumble across Smough's Great Hammer.

This massive weapon can be seen first-hand in Dark Souls and makes its way back in the 3rd game of the trilogy. Every successful hit that the wielder lands on their opponent results in the user gaining health back. It also has a unique attack when wielding both as a single-handed and two-handed weapon.

7 Demon's Fist

Dark Souls 3 Weapons Demon Fist

The Demon's Fist is a neat close-quarters weapon since it applies to each hand when it's two-handed in combat by the player. It inflicts a solid amount of fire damage and those who get used to the weapon can make the most out of the Flame Whirlwind attack as its length varies based on when the player decides to activate the follow-up attack, a ground slam.

For those wanting to make the weapon, they'll have to find a Soul of a Demon. This can be acquired by defeating a specific demon in Smouldering Lake.

6 Avelyn

Dark Souls 3 Weapons Avelyn

Now, Avelyn isn't the type of weapon that's ultra-impressive in terms of damage and will likely never be wielded by most players. It's unique because it's a crossbow that looks like it was made from a musical instrument. The name also leans towards this idea as it sounds very angelic and ethereal.

Avelyn fires three bolts in rapid succession in an effort to inflict a good amount of damage. It's the type of weapon that looks best on a mantle and not in the hands of someone using it as a weapon.

5 Crow Quills

Dark Souls 3 Weapons Crow Quills

The Crow Quills shows up in the Ashes of Ariandel DLC of Dark Souls 3 and seems to be heavily influenced by Bloodborne. When used as a single-hand weapon, it's nothing more than an effective straight sword.

It garners uniqueness when two-handed since players gain the ability to throw thin blades from their hands using the weapon art technique. This weapon is great for players who love to backstab as it carries with it a high rating when it comes to critical strikes on enemies.

4 Dark Hand

The Dark Hand may not appear to look like a traditional weapon, but it is very much a tool worth wielding. Its origin is somewhat unknown but it is said to be an ancient relic of some sort that once belonged to a Primordial Serpent.

This weapon is completely missable and is acquired from the merchant known as Yuria of Londor. It inflicts serious amounts of dark damage, and though it functions as a melee weapon, it is classified as a spell catalyst. Any build in the game can use it since it has no requirements in order to wield it.

3 Ledo's Great Hammer

Dark Souls 3 Weapons LEdo's

Ledo isn't a commonly known character in Dark Souls but he can be fought via invasion in the Dark Souls 3: Ringed City DLC. His great hammer is rather unique as it happens to be the heaviest weapon in the game.

It's stronger than the previously mentioned Great Hammer of Smough, but it's unclear if it is similar to Havel the Rock's Dragon Tooth. The two likely tried to find the answer themselves as they were good friends. By defeating Ledo players can get their hands on this incredibly unique and equally heavy great hammer.

2 Crucifix Of The Mad King

Dark Souls 3 Weapons Crucifix

When reading the name for the Crucifix of the Mad King, it can be assumed that the name is symbolic or thematic of the weapon's purpose. In this case, it's a literal explanation of the weapon itself as the Crucifix of the Mad King is a spear running through the body of a mad king who was born to pygmy royalty.

A female knight impaled the tyrant in hopes of killing him, but since he was an undying king, she was forced to deliver him to the darkroom where she held on to her spear until her final days in an effort to contain the madness.

1 Dragon Tooth

Dark Souls 3 Weapons Dragon Tooth

It should come as no surprise that Havel the Rock carried such an incredibly unique weapon. The Dragon Tooth is simply that, a tooth from an everlasting dragon that Havel wielded as his own personal mace. In terms of power, it holds its own in combat but requires a large amount of strength in order to wield it effectively.

Those looking to make it stronger will need to find a fair amount of Titanite Scales. The Dragon Tooth also gives the wielder resistance to both magic and fire damage, which seems rather fitting for a weapon wielded by Havel.
