Strategy

The player approaching the boss.

As you enter the arena, you will see Judicator Argo in the distance. While Argo is talking, you have enough time to buff yourself if you want to. You can kill him, but fighting him is pointless because if you take hits, you will need to use an Estus Flask to heal for the real fight, which would be a waste.

Once the first Guardian is summoned, the battle will begin. As the Guardian is rising, you can be beside him and wait for him to stand up. Once he does that, you can unleash multiple hits on him, breaking his poise and dealing enough damage that he goes down or is quite low. After a while, Halflight will be summoned.

The Guardian needs to be taken care of before facing Halflight so that the former does not heal the boss multiple times.

Most of Halflight's attacks are easy to dodge. He acts as a normal NPC and will not fight aggressively. An attack to watch out for is his Ritual Spears which can block your path, allowing Halflight and the Guardian to deal damage to you from afar using their ranged attacks. After Halflight loses 50 percent of his health, another Guardian will be summoned to aid the boss. Deal with the Guardian first, then focus on Halflight.

Try to separate both of them when fighting one so that Guardian's heal range doesn't reach Halflight.

Whenever Halflight sheathes his sword, try to get away from him as he will use one of two attacks, both of which are deadly up close. You can use the pillars in the arena if you ever have the need to use an Estus Flask. Do not try to heal in the open, as the boss's Katana can do serious damage to you.

For ranged players using Pyromancy or Sorcery, the strategy is the same. Dealing with the Guardian takes first priority. Staying away from the Halflight to cast spells will allow you to avoid most of his Katana attacks. However, the boss will try to spam the leaping slash, which is an attack to look out for.
