David Hayer, the voice actor behind Solid Snake, has expressed interest in voicing Wolverine in the upcoming PS5 game.

Although we only saw a very small glimpse of Insomniac Games' Wolverine during the PlayStation Showcase, it's already got fans speculating and requesting specific actors to play Logan. The brief trailer didn't reveal a voice for the character, which has fans thinking that the role is up for grabs.

One particularly interesting suggestion has actually come from a voice actor, as well as a large number of fans. David Hayer, best known as the voice of Solid and Naked Snake in Metal Gear Solid, has been suggested for the role by fans. Hayer took to Twitter to respond to some of the comments suggested he should take up the claws.

A fan posted a screenshot of the Wolverine trailer and asked others on Twitter if they thought that David Hayer should star in the role. Hayter then quote Tweeted the image and said, "I admit… I was thinking that". The Tweet has seen nearly 20k likes, suggesting that most fans agree that he'd be a good pick for the character.

David Hayter isn't new to the world of Wolverine either, as he was also a writer on X-Men and X2 and helped to direct the character in several scenes. After the reveal trailer was shown off for the first time, Hayter brought up some of his history with the character, showing a scene from X-Men and saying, "I sat at Hugh's seat at the bar, made up the scene, and suggested this pose".

Whether or not Hayter's interest in the role will help him get it isn't clear and it might just be him playing along with the idea, but the positive reaction has shown that he'd be a pick that's accepted for the role with ease.

When talking about Wolverine, Insomniac Games' Ryan Schneider said, "Even though Marvel’s Wolverine is very early in development, from what I’ve seen of its emotional narrative and cutting-edge gameplay", which could suggest that the voice of Wolverine has already entered the role and has started voice recording of some kind, unless the game is so early that voices haven't been decided.
