Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount, Critical Role’s upcoming D&D Fifth Edition sourcebook, is already selling extremely well according to internal Wizards of the Coast metrics.

This perhaps comes as no surprise to any Critical Role fans in the audience, but the upcoming Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount sourcebook is doing really well. According to a recent update by Wizards of the Coast PR-man Greg Tito, it’s both the number one selling book on Amazon and the best-selling D&D book since the release of Fifth Edition.

"We have a little bit of internal metrics,” Tito said in a recent D&D News update, “but we're pretty sure that this book has seen the most pre-orders and pre-release excitement since any of the core rulebooks for Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition were released."

Keep in mind that Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount isn’t even out yet--this is all just pre-orders. The book releases on March 17th, but even almost two months out, folks are digitally lining up to get their orders in wherever they can.

For those who haven't kept up with the rapid pace of teasers being released, we already know that Explorer's Guide to Wildemount will include three new subclasses, but it will also include new monsters and even a new type of magic item that will level-up with the player. Called the Vestiges of Divergence, these items and weapons were once wielded by great warriors long ago but have since lost some of their magical power over time. Once they sense they're being wielded by an adventurer of increasing skill and renown, these Vestiges begin to regain their powers and offer new stats and abilities as the player levels.

And of course, for Critical Role fans, the book represents a far more official look into the show’s lore than has ever been seen before. Fan compendiums online try to keep track of things as best they can, but Matt Mercer has never made his designs public until this official collaboration with WotC.

Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount comes out on March 17th. Get it now while pre-orders can still keep up with demand.
