Behaviour Interactive has some exciting news to share with fans of its hit horror game, Dead by Daylight. Not only will the multiplayer finally make its way to the Epic Games Store, but the developer has revealed the details of its upcoming original chapter, Portrait of a Murder. The new DLC, which will introduce the game’s first Mexican American character, is expected later this month while Dead by Daylight will pop up on the Epic Games Store sometime next month.

Portrait of a Murder will take Dead by Daylight back to its roots with a full original chapter including a Killer, Survivor, and brand-new map. These new characters will be “unique and diverse”, a characteristic that creative director Dave Richard claims is in the DNA of Dead by Daylight.

The new Killer is The Artist - Chilean painter Carmina Mora. Saved by a murder of crows before she could take her own life, she was inspired to use her art to expose local corruption. Her activism was not appreciated by all, and she and her friends were kidnapped and abandoned in the desert. She had her wrists severed and her tongue cut out, but before she could be killed, a swarm of crows attacked her assailants and friends. She was then taken by The Entity and transformed into the vessel of vengeance you'll meet in-game.

The DLC will also introduce Survivor Jonah Vasquez, the game’s first Mexican American character. A dedicated codebreaker for the CIA, Vasquez has been following a string of numbers that will lead him to a haunting reality beyond comprehension: a lost graveyard in Chile. This graveyard, known as The Forsaken Boneyard, serves as the new map for the DLC. Here, Vasquez will come face to face with the Artist and her murderous crows.

Along with news of this DLC, Behaviour Interactive also announced the arrival of Dead by Daylight onto the Epic Games Store. Arriving sometime next month, all Dead by Daylight content, including the base game, all past editions, and all DLC will be available for the first time on the digital storefront.

Portrait of a Murder will be available later this month for $6.99 on PC and $7.99 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch.
