Get ready to sweep Freddy Kruger off his feet. It appears that Dead by Daylight developer, Behaviour Interactive, may be working on a dating simulator based on its survival horror game. The developer has filed a trademark for the title “Hooked On You: A Dead By Daylight Dating Sim”.

News of this trademark was revealed by Dead by Daylight leaks account @DBDLeaks on Twitter. The user shared a screenshot of the trademark, which was filed on February 16. Beyond the title, no information is really given for what this trademark means for the studio.

While all clues point to an upcoming dating sim from the developer, especially the fact that it was created just two days after Valentine’s Day, it could end up just being a placeholder for some extra content to the main game. Or it could be a joke from the developer as the prank-filled April Fool’s Day rapidly approaches. Though, it seems like a lot of work for a simple gag.

The filing remains active with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, which means the studio could have big plans for the title. And, honestly, a dating sim makes the most sense – especially when you consider "Dating Sim" is literally in the title of the game.

Oddly enough, a killer dating sim would not be the strangest one on the market. Let us not forget the KFC dating sim that let players shoot their shot with silver fox Colonel Sanders. There is also the indie game that lets you hook up with Lovecraft monster Cthulhu, because why not. Seems like no fantasy, no matter how odd, is off-limits when it comes to dating sims.

So, if the chance to woo a serial killer or nab a second date with a demon from hell is something you have always wanted to do, then you may be in luck.
