The newest Killer in Dead by Daylight has finally been revealed to be The Blight, also seen as the alchemist in the ever-growing lore of the Entity. Ambition brought the alchemist towards the Entity’s realm, but his desire for power left him mutated, mad, and with a host of unnatural abilities to quickly ambush survivors through dashing and clever use of collision mechanics with the environment.

There is also a new Survivor named Felix Richter, though players should not that Chapter XVII will not be releasing with a new map. However, the PTB is giving players a glimpse into the updated design and animations for Generators, Pallets, Lockers, Chests, and all maps in both Springwood and Yamaoka Estate. So far, the updates look fantastic, and the Survivors finally look as though they are repairing the Generators, and not merely hovering their hands nearby.

Along with the new Killer and Survivor are new offerings that could fundamentally change how matches play out. A new Rare Offering for both, Sacrificial Ward, will cancel other offerings that would send players to a specific realm.

Another new Common Offering for both sides is Bloodied Blueprint, which will reveal the aura of basement hooks for 20 seconds at the start of the trail. If the map has a Killer Shack, the offering increases the odds that the basement will spawn there. A new Common Offering named Torn Blueprint will do the same thing, but instead of the Killer Shack will increase the odds of the basement spawning beneath a map’s main building.

Another new Common Offering for both sides is the Annotated Blueprint, which increases the odds of the Hatch spawning in the Killer Shack, whereas another Common Offering, Vigo’s Blueprint, does the same for a map’s main building. This is the most interesting new offering in the game, at least in terms of wacky SWF shenanigans and entire groups escaping with the help of a key, or for Survivors who build their perks around being the last player alive (Locker Dwights and Blendettes, rise up!)

For now, there is much to test in the PTB, and we should expect the launch of The Blight in the coming weeks following testing and potential changes to his current build.
