Normally as a Killer in Dead By Daylight, you’re playing with just one themed monster of the week that tears around the map causing all sorts of havoc. But with the Twins, you play as two murderous mutants that can wrangle and corral Survivors with ease before shipping them off to have their souls sucked up by the dark Entity within the Fog. They pose an interesting learning curve for newbies and veterans alike, so if you want to master this terrible twosome or learn the best way to make them into a deadly duo in their next Trial then here are some tips for Playing as the Twins in Dead By Daylight.

10 They’re Best Used In Combination

The Twins are the first Killers to be introduced in Dead By Daylight as a pair, the two work in tandem and are best used as such. If you play as just one of them on their own like you would any other wandering psychopath in this game you’re going to have a hard time. Solo they’re not great, Charlotte is slow and Victor can’t do a ton of damage, but if you can get their teamwork combos down you can be unstoppable.

The combination in question is sending out Victor to locate, chase and generally constantly harass Survivors into making mistakes whilst switching out to Charlotte as the big heavy hitter when they’re cornered. Hunting down the weaker or injured members of the pack should be your priority, play mind games, isolate who you can before sweeping in with the finishing blow.

9 Use Victor To Scout Often

It really can’t be stressed how crucial it is that you send out little Victor as often as you can. This tiny shrieking chap is the perfect scout that can find Survivors in seconds. He has a much faster movement speed than his sister, plus he can also check lockers, vault through gaps, and chase Survivors through windows.

He’s perfect for pursuits and dropping sudden ambushes, something that you should be doing a lot, as the more harassed someone is, the more prone to making mistakes they become. Although Victor can’t see scratch marks left by Survivors, he can see blood puddles of those that are injured, so keep a keen eye out for those if you want to keep the pressure up.

8 Victor's Good At Herding

Victor is more than just Charlotte's demonic little brother, not only is he basically a scout drone, he has his own attacks and in the right hands can be quite the demonic little sheepdog. Because of how fast, aggressive and hard to spot he is most players, especially the injured ones, will cut and run when they see him, so use this to your advantage.

When Victor attaches to a Survivor, they can’t repair a generator, leave through the exit gate, and will suffer from the status effects of Broken, Oblivious, and Incapacitated making them easy pickings for his big lumbering sibling. He’s not very good at taking down healthy Survivors, but he can incapacitate injured ones easily.

7 Set A Trap With The Twins

On top of herding players around like a rabid demonic sheepdog, another tactic that never fails for mopping up Survivors as the Twins is to set traps with them. Unlike other Killers where it’s a lot harder to get the drop on someone or corner them in a particular tileset, with the Twins this is much easier to do.

For example, place Charlotte near a generator that Survivors keep clustering near, then use Victor to keep them off it or bait them to try and chase him before quickly swapping to his angry big sister for a surprise smack. Another tactic that works well is hiding the pair near the Exit Gates when all the generators are repaired but before the gates are open. Have Charlotte lurking on one side with Victor running around near the other one to scare off players from the switches or to chase them into the range of Charlotte's big meaty melee hit.

6 Their Perks Are Good For Slowdown

There are a lot of unique Perks for Killers in Dead By Daylight, and it can be a lot of fun to figure them out for the first time as they all have some abilities that mix up gameplay and keeps things fresh. For the Twins, you’re going to be focused on map lockdown and pressure.

What that means is you’ll be focused on running out the clock for the Survivors and playing aggressively to keep them on their toes. To help with this the petrifying pair have plenty of Perks. For example combine Corrupt Intervention, which blocks three random faraway generators with Spies From The Shadows which increases the range of Crow alerts up to a max of 36 meters to limit how where other players can go on the map without being seen.

Dead By Daylight: Killer Close To Survivor During Chase

The add-ons for the Twins are a bit of a mixed bag as they just increase a set stat by an incremental amount depending on the level of the modifier. It’s a mild issue because it doesn’t allow for a lot of mixing and matching of different debuffs like other Killers in Dead By Daylight. However, there are certain combinations you can use that provide a pretty substantial stat bump.

For example, Forest Stew provides a massive boost to Victor's movement speed, whilst Toy Sword decreases his pounce charge time allowing for fast and rapid attacks. Use Cats Eye to stop Victor's shrieks when he pounces to make those ambushes completely silent. Or try Iridescent Pendant with Toy Soldier to apply a debuff when Victor's crushed that gives the Exposed status to a Survivor as well as showing their aura for six seconds to allow for swift double damage vengeance.

4 Charlotte Can Body Block

Aside from being a big heavy hitter, Charlotte can also be used to physically block escape routes. Used most effectively in tandem with Victor skittering around the place, Charlotte's large frame means it’s impossible for Survivors to slip past her, so you can use her large stature to your advantage.

For example, standing in doorways or blocking windows and pallets from being vaulted over. Although if you’re using her to block Pallets, don’t put her directly beside it as she can be stunned for a few seconds and when that happens you lose control of Victor and he becomes vulnerable to squishing.

3 Keep Charlotte Close By

One of the biggest downsides of using the Twins is the crucial few seconds that are wasted between spotting a Survivor with one and then starting the chase with the other. During that time where you’re switching siblings other players can easily slip out of view and escape, so to counter this keep the two of them close by. Being able to get Charlotte to where her brother has spotted another player quickly is crucial if you want to be effective as these fearsome family members.

Charlotte's Terror Radius is also hidden when she’s dormant, so it’s hard for Survivors to accidentally discover her, so don’t worry too much about where you park her. Another thing worth knowing is that Victor dissolves after 90 seconds before regrowing on Charlotte, so don’t just park her up in a corner and leave her, keep the two near that way there’s less distance to cover on the runback should Victors clock run out after you spot a Survivor.

2 Don’t Overthink It

A lot of the meta for Killers can seem a little complicated for new players in Dead By Daylight, but thankfully the Twins are newbie-friendly. Considered by many in the Community to be the easiest character for a rookie to play as, so try to keep that in mind when using them as they’re not as complicated as they seem.

The general gameplay loop you should be falling into is simple, chase with one, bonk with the other. It’s a solid tactic that’s easy to practice and improve upon over time. So don’t worry too much about mastering them the first time around.

1 Use Height To Your Advantage

Although the opportunity to place yourself high above other players as a Killer in Dead By Daylight is rare, it’s a position you should always use to your advantage, especially with the Twins. Not only does it give you a birds-eye view of the map, but it also benefits Victor.

When Victor uses his launch ability from a large height, he goes much further than he normally would. It’s a sneaky little trick that can also be used with the Shred ability of the Demogorgon and it allows you to gain quite a lot of ground in a short space of time, or fire yourself at a lone Survivor like a rabid, gibbering cruise missile.
