Koei Tecmo has announced yet another season pass for Dead or Alive 6 and the price is just as outrageous as ever. Coming in at another $80, fans with money burning holes in their pockets can look forward to a bunch of superfluous DLC that hardly justifies the price being charged. It seems Dead or Alive 6 can't help but nickel and dime fans.

The first new addition in this season pass is a set of Halloween themed costumes. 16 characters will be receiving witch outfits that range of somewhat clever to outright skimpy in nature. Two more packs of 16 costumes will be added in the future, as well as a brand new character with their own set of outfits.

Fans that buy the season pass today will also receive bonus costumes for characters Kasumi and Ayane. Surprisingly not lurid in style, these outfits seem to be throwbacks to the character's Dead or Alive 2 looks. It's not really worth $80, but at least it's something nostalgic.

Following up all of that is more costumes in the "Revival Series." The recently released set of bunny costumes is included while two more packs of 16 outfits will be added in the coming months. As the trailer notes, everything should be available by December 2019 (albeit tentatively). If you like playing dress-up, this pass is just for you.

What's more shocking is not that Dead or Alive 6 has DLC, but that Koei Tecmo seems game for charging obscene prices. There was a period of time when costumes were unlockable in fighting games that has been lost to the annals of history. Dead or Alive was even famous for including a plethora of outfits when most fighting games didn't.

It's also truly baffling how these packs cost so much, yet only include single characters. You can buy everything individually, but why even pack in a ton of nonsense for a season pass? Why isn't there simply an option to get all of the characters for one fee instead of individual purchase?

At any rate, expect more DLC for Dead or Alive 6 next year. It shouldn't be a surprise when the next pack comes out at $80.
