The Dead Space remake is reportedly targeting early 2023, having been delayed out of an internal release date of October 2022.

Earlier in the week, Motive announced that a new Dead Space developer livestream was going to debut on March 11 to show off more footage from the game. Although development on the game is reportedly being received very positively, a new report from VentureBeat claims that we're going to be waiting a little longer for Dead Space to release.

The report claims that EA and Motive are now internally targeting a release date of early 2023 for the Dead Space remake. It also states that Motive and EA were originally planning on releasing the game around October 2022, just in time for Halloween, although that was never announced publicly.

DeadSpace-final

One of the main goals of the Dead Space remake is to be able to achieve something similar in quality to Capcom's Resident Evil 2 Remake, which is likely why EA is allowing Motive extra time on the project. The report also claims that the game is being received well internally, both by EA and the developers at Motive.

Considering the original goal was to release the game in October of this year, it's not clear if the release window was planned for announcement during the upcoming developer broadcast, as the report from VentureBeat notes that it was just an internal target, not an official release of any kind. If an announcement was planned to be made, it's not clear if Motive will now announce that the remake is aiming for release in early 2023, or if it'll keep that release window close to its chest like the original internal goal.

Although the release window was never officially announced by EA, the Dead Space remake is far from the first game to get delayed into 2023 and will likely not be the last. Just last month it was reported that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been pushed back to 2023, although that has yet to be officially confirmed.
