As reviews for Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing In Disguise are slowly being published, one valid critique that the game received was how it suffers from a tremendously choppy framerate, making it look like it's stuttering and in return, providing a not-so-great playthrough. As it turns out, the issue is being looked at, and even the game's writer/ director is going to do something about it.

Hidetaka Suehiro (also known as Swery), who is Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing In Disguise's writer and director, took the time to address the framerate issue during a YouTube stream. "There will not be a patch released in time for the release date," Swery's translator stated during the stream, "but Swery's going to take everyone's opinions and points into account, and he's going to fight with the producer to get something done at some point after the game's release."

Although it doesn't mean that the director is going to actually fight the producer, the assumption is that he is going to present a valid argument on behalf of the players (hence the "take everyone's opinions and points into account" part), and explain why a timely patch for the game must be implemented. All in all, it's good to see that the game's director is willing to do something about the problem and try his best to make sure the framerate issues is fixed at some point.

On top of Swery committing to addressing the framerate issue, the game's development team is also going to look into a possible patch. The information about the patch comes from Jim Sterling, the same person who posted an impression video on his YouTube channel and said how he reached out to the PR department, who in return told him how there were no immediate plans to fix the game. This time though, Sterling clarified the response that he was given by stating the full quote the PR department gave him, "Currently we're looking into our options for a possible patch, but nothing is confirmed yet."

From a general perspective, the framerate issues might deter fans from purchasing Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing In Disguise because they may not want to put up with the problem. Still, an official response that acknowledges the issue and is willing to look into it gives some form of hope.
