Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld recently took to Instagram to post a picture of the Merc with a Mouth killing the one and only Mickey Mouse! Which means the battle over Deadpool 3 and which direction to take the film in, may still be continuing, however instead of vocally discussing the future of the franchise, Rob Liefeld may now be using "subtle" comedy to approach the issue.

Last week, big news surfaced revolving around Deadpool 3's future. The news was very bleak and off-putting as the creator of Deadpool, Rob Liefeld stated that he believed Disney had no plans for Deadpool 3 and no plans to even incorporate the character Deadpool into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the foreseeable future.

This week it appears as if Rob Liefeld is striking back at the massive corporation as he took to Instagram to post an image on his story which was of Deadpool holding a dead Mickey Mouse.

Rob Liefeld published this picture of Deadpool holding a dead Mickey Mouse to his Instagram story

After posting the picture to his Instagram story, Rob Liefeld quickly had fans questioning his behavior and questioning why he would post an image that would quickly push him further out of Disney's contact list. After being questioned by fans Liefeld quickly took to Twitter to express his rationale behind posting the picture to his Instagram story.

Is this a big deal? Yes and no. It is in a sense because it highlights Liefeld and his frustration with Disney, even if Liefeld doesn't want to admit that himself. But the image also does not mean anything, especially if you view it through the lens you would view Deadpool through. Deadpool is supposed to be a comedic character who can make a mockery out of anything, and so it is important for fans to realize that this image highlights one of Deadpool's key characteristics, which is a sense of humor. One thing is for certain though – creating an image or posting an image aren't entirely that different in terms of reception.

Overall, while this news may be extremely entertaining and shocking to some, it should not have any effect whatsoever on Disney's plans for Deadpool 3 and Rob Liefeld's involvement with the project. However, maybe his fans are correct in stating that he may have hammered the final nail in Deadpool 3's coffin, or at least, closed any chance of him being involved in the project. Of course, the outcome of this scenario will be completely up to Kevin Feige, so hopefully he doesn't hold a grudge, and hopefully Deadpool 3 will begin production sooner than later.
