Death Stranding finally has an official release date, and luckily gamers will only need to wait until November 9, 2019, to get their hands on the game. To celebrate the announcement, Kojima Productions has put out a brand new "Release Date Reveal Trailer" that clocks in at just under nine minutes.

This video is packed with tons of interesting story and gameplay details that are very easy to miss your first time through, which is why we have decided to go back and comb through the whole thing to pick out 10 things you missed from the trailer.

10 10. The Baby Has A Name

Early in the video Mads Mikkelsen's character Cliff is seen talking to what appears to be one of Death Stranding's Bridge Babies through the glass of the infant's tank. While it is interesting to see him directly addressing the child, it is even more intriguing to hear him refer to the baby by a name.

At first, the muffled audio may sound like Cliff is merely saying "baby," but the trailer's subtitles show that he is specifically saying "BB." It is possible that BB stands for Bridge Baby, but the way he is addressing the child seems to imply that the title has more meaning.

9 9. This Mysterious Woman

Following the scene between Cliff and BB, there is a brief shot of a damaged photo showing what appears to be Norman Reedus' character Sam, the president of the United States who is later referred to as Bridget, and a pregnant woman whose face is obscured together in the Oval Office.

The trailer never addresses who this woman is or what happened to her child, but the fact that it is never revealed means that the identities and fates of both these characters will likely play an essential role in Death Stranding's story.

8 8. The Inventory System

When viewers get their first look at gameplay in the trailer, the clips include a couple of brief shots showing off Death Stranding's inventory system. Sam is seen pulling out a ladder and climbing anchor to help him traverse the environment, but a few other items can also be seen on the radial wheel.

Unfortunately, it is hard to make out what most of these other tools might be, but Sam does appear to have a gun with him during one of the shots. While he does not use the weapon in this gameplay segment, later in the trailer he can be seen firing a rifle at an enemy.

7 7. People Can Control The Weather

Later in the trailer, a militant separatist group called the Homo Demens is introduced, and it seems like they will serve as an enemy faction in Death Stranding. Not only does this group appear to have a gross thing for licking faces, but it also looks like they are able to control the weather.

An unnamed character who seems to be leading the Demens is seen pointing towards the sky and shooting out a bolt of lightning that immediately forces rain to start falling. The presence of rain in Death Stranding seems to be related to what the characters call "Voidouts," but how exactly they are connected is currently unclear.

6 6. Stealth Mechanics

In the trailer's next gameplay section viewers get their first look at Death Stranding's stealth mechanics. Sam is seen walking through an open field when all of a sudden, a yellow pulse passes through him and highlights a box he is carrying on his back. The silhouette of where the scan detected Sam can be seen still hovering in the air as he quickly relocates into some taller grass to hide.

It is interesting that out in Death Stranding's open world stealth seems to work in two phases and that what you are carrying may determine how aggressively enemies will search for you.

5 5. Items Can Be Lost During Combat

Following the brief look at the game's stealth, Sam is discovered by the unknown group as he attempts to escape. Unfortunately, one of the enemies manages to hit him with their baton and knock a box from Sam's back onto the ground. Sam reacts quickly though and is able to retrieve the item and take out a few of the enemies.

It is not clear what this item is or what its importance might be, but it is exciting to see that combat in the game will have consequences and you can potentially lose valuable gear during a fight.

4 4. Vehicles Can Do Tricks

After Sam has dispatched a couple of the yellow-suited enemies, he makes his way to the motorcycle from early in the trailer and escapes. As he is starting to pull out though he does make sure to take the time to pop a wheelie just so that he can drive off in style.

While players will have to wait and see what the depth of this trick system will be or how many vehicles will even be able to perform them, seeing that the developers took the time to add it in is a promising sign for what could be possible with the game's driving mechanics.

3 3. The Guerrilla Games' Decima Engine

While it has been known for a while that Death Stranding is being built with Guerrilla Games' Decima engine, it is particularly evident that Kojima Productions is using Decima later in the trailer when Sam is seen scanning for BTs. The visual effect of the scan is very similar to the one seen in Horizon Zero Dawn when Aloy uses her focus device.

This is not to say that Kojima Productions is just lazily reusing assets from Guerrilla Games' past titles, but it is clear that the Decima engine was chosen because of how it was designed to be used in previous games.

2 2. Mechanical Bridge Babies

A few times throughout the second half of the video, mechanical baby dolls can be seen trapped in barbed wire and even inside someone's throat just like the baby from the beginning of the trailer. It is not entirely clear what the purpose these dolls are, but they do seem to be related to the bridge babies and have also appeared in past trailers.

They primarily appear near Cliff, so it is possible that these are being manufactured by or for those on "the other side" to allow them to interact with the regular world.

1 1. The Moon

Finally, the trailer ends with Cliff talking once again to BB and saying that he will show him the "real thing soon." He then goes on to say that "The whole wide world will be yours to explore. You'll be able to go wherever you want - even the moon."

While a random hint that Death Stranding may in part take place on the moon might seem strange at first, it does make sense when you consider that the Kojima Productions logo is an astronaut and Kojima has in the past used company logos to reveal story details about his games.
