Deathloop is a game about doing the same thing over and over again, progressing a little with each loop, depending on how much you explore and what you pick up on the way. You’ll find new information, better weapons, and most of all - plenty of Trinkets to enhance your abilities.

These Trinkets can be equipped from the loadout menu between levels, and you can have up to four at a time. They can range from defense, offense, or passive assistance that’ll make your life a whole lot easier. These ones are some of the most useful.

Updated September 27, 2022, by Peter Voight: The day that Xbox gamers have been waiting for has arrived — Deathloop is finally on Xbox Game Pass! With its arrival on the subscription service comes a brand-new update, Golden Loop. This update brings a new extended ending, providing you with the perfect excuse to revisit one of 2021’s best titles.

In addition, the update introduced new “two-in-one” trinkets, which combine trinkets from the original game into an all-in-one trinket that’s better equipped to let you run roughshod over the Visionaries of Blackreef. The following character trinkets consist of a few selections from the original release that will help you on your journey and prepare you for the Golden Loop update.

9 Juiced Up - You Have The Power

  • Trinket: Juiced Up
  • Type Referenced: Purple Tier
  • Description: "Maximum power is greatly increased. Maximum. Power."

Whether you go into Deathloop guns blazing or take a more stealthy approach, one thing that every play style will need is an abundance of powers. While you can only equip two, these trusty abilities will be used often to get you out of jams.

From using telekinesis to toss enemies like rag dolls with “Karnesis” to teleporting quickly around the map with “Shift,” you’ll need a lot of power in the bank. Juiced Up will increase your maximum power, and allow you to cause as much mayhem as your heart can handle.

8 Pistolero - Two In The Hand

  • Trinket: Pistolero
  • Type Referenced: Purple Tier
  • Description: "Deal greatly increased damage while dual-wielding. Bang bang."

What’s better than one overpowered gun taking down Visionaries? Well… you know the answer. Dual wielding in Deathloop makes you feel unstoppable. You don’t need stealth or teleportation. Just bullets upon bullets to cause chaos for those around you.

With Pistolero, you’ll get increased damage when dual wielding, which must equal roughly triple the power of a regular weapon when you think about it. Combine this with Double Trouble, which gives you increased accuracy while dual wielding, for extra chaos.

7 Personal Touch - Not So Idle Hands

  • Trinket: Personal Touch
  • Type Referenced: Purple Tier
  • Description: "Barehanded assassinations are quicker, and you kick like a mule."

If you prefer a more upfront approach to your encounters, Personal Touch is one of the best character trinkets to have equipped. See someone on a ledge far above the ground? Shift up to them and kick them into the next county. Need to move quietly through the streets without much ammo? Sorted.

6 Spring Heeled - Don’t Stop Hopping

  • Trinket: Spring Heeled
  • Type Referenced: Purple Tier
  • Description: “Double-jump in mid-air. A classic maneuver.”

One of the earliest and most useful Trinkets you can use is Spring Heeled. This Trinket allows you to double jump - it’s as simple as that, but is one of the most helpful features out there. It’s entirely optional, so you don’t have to use it - but why wouldn't you?

What makes this Trinket great, is that you’ll pretty much be handed it at the start of the game. The Trinket will be added to your inventory at the beginning of each loop, so equipping this one from the get-go could not be easier.

5 Extended Signal - Hacking Has Never Been Easier

  • Trinket: Extended Signal
  • Type Referenced: Purple Tier
  • Description: “Hack devices from crazy far away.”

At the start of the game, you will receive the Hackamajig - a device that lets you hack into and control many things across the game. This includes turrets, doors, distractions, or even the antenna you’ll have to hack if Juliana has invaded your game. The Hackamajig will be key to your success, and you should give it the upgrades it deserves.

Extended Signal allows you to hack all of these devices from further away, which can make all the difference when it comes to your objective. For example, using the purple tier version of this Trinket will extend the distance incredibly. This can help to hack something from another building, across a heavily guarded area, or something that is usually more difficult to reach.

4 Deep Pockets - Carry More, Shoot More

  • Trinket: Deep Pockets
  • Type Referenced: Purple Tier
  • Description: “Carry a crap-ton more ammunition. Too much is never enough.”

Whether you’re playing the game with a stealthy approach or tackling it head-on in chaos, one thing is for certain: you’re going to be shooting a lot. There are a lot of guns in Deathloop, each with its own tiers, variations, perks, and special versions. Ammo can be picked up from around levels, but you may find it’s not quite enough.

With Deep Pockets, you can carry much more ammunition than usual. This Trinket is ideal for someone with automatic guns and an intention to shoot everyone on the map, as it will greatly decrease the time you need to spend rummaging around for replacement bullets. Even if you’re aiming to be stealthier, things don’t always go to plan - take a good gun and this Trinket, just in case.

3 Golden Harvest - The Upgrades Don’t Stop Coming

  • Trinket: Golden Harvest
  • Type Referenced: Blue Tier
  • Description: “Harvest significantly more Residuum from all sources.”

Residuum is vital to progression in Deathloop. It will allow you to infuse weapons and upgrades, meaning you can keep them from loop to loop. You want Trinkets, and you need Residuum to keep those Trinkets - so use the Trinkets to get more Residuum.

With Golden Harvest, any Residuum you drain from objects and Visionaries will be greatly increased. This can be an incredibly useful Trinket to have equipped for a few runs in Deathloop, especially if you’re going to be exploring or taking down a few Visionaries as you go. The more you gather, the more weapons and Trinkets you can keep, and so the more powerful you are.

2 Comeback Kid - Nobody's Stopping You

  • Trinket: Comeback Kid
  • Type Referenced: Purple Tier
  • Description: “Regenerate significantly more total health.”

In a game where every death will put you straight back to the beginning, you’ll want to avoid it as much as possible. When all hell breaks loose, things can get away from you, and you’ll be downed before you know it. You have a couple of respawns thanks to Reprise, but you should not take them for granted.

This is where Comeback Kid comes into play - the Trinket will greatly increase the amount of your health that regenerates after taking damage. When you’re stuck in a gunfight or trying to escape some unforeseen chaos, this perk can save your life - otherwise, you would have to look for Fiz-Pops and risk one more bullet ending your run.

1 Splashdown - A Superhero Landing

DEATHLOOP_splashdown trinket
  • Trinket: Splashdown
  • Type Referenced: Purple Tier
  • Description: “Create a big ol’ blast when you drop from a height. You’re the bomb.”

Okay, this one is more of a fun Trinket to use than it is overly helpful. It can be used in the breakout of chaos - or can break it out, to begin with - and you will always feel cool while crashing down into a crowd and propelling enemies in every direction.

Splashdown will let you jump from a height and create a shockwave explosion around you, which is a great way to deal with a group of Eternalists in your path. Pair this with Cat Fall - the Trinket that reduces fall damage - and you can run and jump off of everything you can find, blasting away all the enemies you see.
