Deathloop is a game about the same day repeating for eternity. You wake up on the beach, throw your bottle to the side, power through the hangover, and get to work. You die. You wake up again on the beach, get to work. You die. You wake up again. You die. It goes on and on.

It might seem like an infinite loop of death (fitting name, aye?) but you're not a willing participant. You play as Colt Vahn, the slick security staff turned gunslinging assassin. The aim? Kill eight targets in one day to end the cycle. So, there's an end in sight.

How long it takes to get to that end in sight is another matter. Whether you take a deep plunge into the four levels to explore everything on offer or just go for the kills to end this purgatory will determine the number of hours you pump in.

It takes around 15 hours to get through Deathloop's main story. The entire game takes place on a single island, Blackreef, which is split into four different zones. Each zone changes depending on the time of day, offering new content and targets, and it's up to you to figure out how to kill the lot of them in one go.

However, if you try to complete the extra objectives or just explore a little more in-depth, it can take upward of 20 hours.

Deathloop has 54 trophies up for grabs. There are three multiplayer ones meaning that you'll have to dip your toes into the PvP hunt if you want to get the lot.

On average, it takes around 30 hours to complete everything. That includes getting all of the skins, achievements, multiplayer challenges, and beating the game itself.

It's not a lengthy experience, but it's an action-packed joyride that has limitless replay value, particularly in the multiplayer department — hence our five-star rating. You can ruin other player's loops until you tire out, so have fun while the loop lasts.
