Almost eight months after its launch, Arkane's Deathloop has received its third major update for PS5 and PC, bringing with it a photo mode and a host of accessibility features. The photo mode comes with its own set of poses, filters, and stickers which can be accessible only in single player mode. In addition to swapping your attire, the mode will also give you the option to swap between Colt and Julianna.

"This Photo Mode is such a great way to allow our players to get creative by using the unique art and levels of Deathloop,” said producer Jeremy Leuliet on the Bethesda website. “The only creative limitations are defined by our players’ imaginations. We’re very excited at Arkane to see how deep the players will dig into all of the different options and what they will come up with.”

“One of our biggest challenges was to adapt Photo Mode for a first-person shooter where your character isn’t displayed apart from the hands and weapons,” Leuliet continued. “We wanted to offer the best possible experience for this mode and took the time to playtest it thoroughly and even asked for insight from players who are experts in using different Photo Modes in games. We took so much pleasure testing Photo Mode that we added a lot of relevant options for the player to make it even more fun and funnier to use.”

In terms of accessibility options, the developers have introduced over 30 new features ranging from menu navigation improvements and interface options, to gameplay options. A separate Accessibility category in the menu houses all of these options. New difficulty options, changing number of Reprises and slowing down the game speed are some of the options available. On top of that new HUD and subtitle options have also been introduced.

""One of the things we didn't expect when starting on accessibility features was how some of these options can be useful and fun for everyone,” said studio director Dinga Bakaba. “My favorites are slow-mo, which enables everyone to make otherwise nearly impossible chain of actions, and Reprise count, which allows you to experiment without consequence with the infinite setting. On the contrary, you can use the Reprise count to make the game more challenging by turning Reprises off entirely."
