Deathloop's first patch on PC is live and has fixed a couple of small irritations, although those hoping for a performance patch will have to wait a little longer. Arkane announced the release of the patch on the official Deathloop Reddit page earlier today, detailing some of the fixes and additions it will bring.

According to the author of the post, Deathloop's latest patch on PC will provide "more descriptive error messaging" for players who are experiencing crashes upon booting up the game. This messaging will let you know whether your CPU doesn't meet the minimum requirements or whether third-party software may be causing issues with the game.

The update also addresses problems with the game's Steam achievements after multiple players reported achievements not unlocking despite meeting the requirements. Unfortunately, those who have experienced issues with achievements will likely have to meet the requirements of the achievement again to finally make it pop.

Arkane also mentions in the Reddit post that the team is looking into the "stuttering" issues many have reported since release, and thanks fans for their patience. If you're experiencing stuttering and would like to help Arkane out, you can contact customer service here, submit a ticket, and describe your issues.

Plenty of people have been coming forward with their fixes in the meantime, with some claiming that the performance issues are due to people running the game on Ultra settings, while others are laying the blame on the game's anti-piracy measures. Whatever the case may be, hopefully, a fix comes sooner rather than later.

For those interested in buying Deathloop, your best bet right now might be to wait a little bit for Arkane to fix the game's performance. Deathloop is also available on PS5 - where it's reported to run a lot smoother - and an Xbox version of the game will likely come out at some point in late 2022 once Sony's timed-exclusivity deal expires.
