Death's Door is getting a physical release on PS5 and Nintendo Switch courtesy of Special Reserve Games. Announced on Special Reserves' official Twitter account, pre-orders are set to open on November 23 at 12 pm central. As with most limited physical releases of digital games, this is likely to sell out very quickly so make sure you mark the date on your calendars if you want a copy.
Unfortunately for those on PS4 or Xbox, it seems like Special Reserve isn't going to release Death's Door physically on any other systems. When asked by fans whether the game would be coming to other platforms, someone from Special Reserves was quick to clarify by saying that "there are no plans" for a physical release on PS4. It's safe to assume the same applies to Xbox as well.
As for what you can expect from this physical edition of Death's Door, you'll get a custom box made by Special Reserve Games as well as a physical disc/cartridge for whichever platform you decide to purchase the game on. The case will have custom artwork as well as a little number close to the bottom telling you which numbered copy you've received.
It's worth noting that Special Reserve Games is an American company but does offer international shipping. This means that if you're outside of the US and want a copy, you'll likely have to pay a pretty hefty international shipping fee.
If you don't want to shell out for international shipping, it was also recently announced that Death's Door is coming to PS4 and PS5 digitally at Sony's latest State of Play broadcast. The announcement was probably one of the highlights in a show that disappointed plenty of people with its lack of high-profile announcements or updates.
There were a few interesting announcements during the show though, one of which being the reveal of Bugsnax: The Isle of Bigsnax. This free DLC for Bugsnax sees the introduction of dozens of new creatures to the game, as well as a new area and a home decoration mechanic. We also got an in-depth look at Little Devil Inside, featuring some gameplay and an idea of what the game is actually about.
