Deep Rock Galactic is a unique action RPG experience seemingly unlike any other. Dwarves mine in space with waves of enemies attacking from time to time, making the game feel like part bullet hell and part puzzle. If you've already prestiged every class and can unlock and beat the hardest difficulty, maybe it's time to move on.

Borderlands is a big and popular franchise that just about everybody has played. If you haven't gotten your hands on it yet, now is the chance. All Borderlands games will give you the same feeling of shooting through waves of creeps added with a cartoon graphics style.

The dialogue and nature of Borderlands is comical and light-hearted. Every character has their quirks, much like in Deep Rock Galactic where every dialogue line is meant to be silly to an extent. Borderlands has co-op multiplayer.

9 Void Bastards (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, PC)

Void Bastards is another action roguelike where you go through various space ships in search of materials and loot for your weapons and ship. The levels contain some amount of procedural generation, much like Deep Rock Galactic's planets.

Enemies are everywhere and are difficult to kill. You'll have to figure out whether it's worth it to kill them or trap them and move on. The game does not have co-op.

8 Genesis Alpha One (PC)

Genesis Alpha One is a new space game where you'll have to set off into other space systems and battle waves of aliens. Going through these galaxies provides the action roguelike feel you may be after, but there's more in store.

You will also have to build a base and maintain resources and a crew. The point of getting in danger's way is to bring home valuable materials that will help your base. You can grow your community and expand your spaceship while taking down many, many aliens. There is no multiplayer for Genesis Alpha One.

7 Gunfire Reborn (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, PC)

Playing as adorable cats, dogs, and bears, you will have to go through dungeons and levels full of enemies in Gunfire Reborn. This is another cartoon-styled game that provides a looter shooter experience for players itching for more.

Gunfire Reborn has over 100 unique weapons to pick up and utilize in different ways, so you'll never get bored. The loot drops and locations are randomized for the player. Gunfire Reborn is currently in early access and you can play the game alone or with friends.

6 Immortal Redneck (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, PC)

Immortal Redneck puts you through various randomly generated maps where you must shoot through enemies and find out what happened to you. The story is set in Egypt and you're a redneck tourist.

The game is meant to be difficult. There is permanent death and nine classes to choose from. There are items in the game called scroll modifiers where when you use them, they can either change the tides of your level for good or for worse. You can also upgrade your character through a skill tree. The game does not have co-op.

5 Warframe (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, PC)

This is the one and only free-to-play game on this list. Warframe has been around for years and is a fast-paced ninja simulator. As a strange ninja alien, you can leave your spaceship and set off on to planets to take down hordes of enemies with parkour and intense combat.

There are different gear sets and upgrades that go beyond basic comprehension. In your ship, you can customize your ninja and expand your skill. Warframe has massive multiplayer, allowing you to play with more than three people at once.

4 Phantom Abyss (PC)

Phantom Abyss is all about parkour and survival. This is the only game on the list that doesn't contain shooting. In this game, you must travel through procedurally generated temples and reach the end so that you can acquire ancient and valuable relics.

The catch here is that the temple is deadly and out to kill you at every turn. Much like in Dark Souls, you can see the faults of other players as you progress. You'll be able to see other people's ghosts and what they attempted to do and failed at. The game has no co-op.

3 BPM: Bullets Per Minute (Xbox, Playstation, PC)

Bullets Per Minute is a bullet hell mixed with a rhythm game. Your only goal is to defeat all enemies and bosses with the music, as the enemies will only move with the beat.

The game is meant to be challenging and items you can find throughout the levels will make you change your current combat playstyle so that you're always on your feet. There are different modes if you want an even greater challenge. Bullets Per Minute intertwines roguelike with rhythm. The game's style uses the colors grey and red only. There is no co-op available.

2 Roboquest (Xbox, PC)

Roboquest is a cute, early access game where you must protect your land by traversing through different biomes and mowing down enemies. The levels are procedurally generated and you can upgrade and enhance your little robot.

Throughout the game, you can uncover more of the story if you choose to. All you know is that a little girl rebooted your mechanical body that is meant to serve as a protector. The game supports two-player co-op.

1 Risk Of Rain 2 (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, PC)

Risk of Rain 2 is a popular roguelike experience where you destroy creatures by using different abilities and weapons. The difference between most of these games and Risk of Rain 2 is that Risk of Rain 2 is third-person and has more powers and abilities than it does guns.

Generated levels are all in a large world instead of close and claustrophobic dungeons. You can loot better items or change your character. Each character is vastly different than the next. Risk of Rain and its sequel support online co-op.
