Like many games before it, Demon Slayer Kimetsu: The Hinokami Chronicles caters to its anime roots and rambunctious fan base with engaging gameplay and beautifully rendered cutscenes. However, unlike its predecessors, this game takes a step back from storytelling and only provides you with the main story beats as you take down demons left and right. The rest of the story, and its much-needed context, are delivered in collectibles called Memory Fragments.

Memory Fragments are rewarded and/or collected throughout numerous parts of your journey and will include scenes and dialogue from the anime itself. These scenes are usually narrated and help alleviate frustration from the constant cycle of slaying demons. There are 53 available Memory Fragments in all.

Prologue

Demon Slayer's Prologue

There are eight Memory Fragments associated with the game’s Prologue. The first four fragments are awarded once you complete the tutorial battle against Sabito. These are:

  • Memory Fragment #6 “Mr. Saburo” is an overworld collectible in Chapter 2. Once you spawn into the town, you’ll need to go to the northeastern section after learning how to track demons by their scent. Upon reaching that general area, turn right and go past the building that has 150 Kimetsu points. An old man will stand in your way; go past him and follow the path - make sure to parkour at the appropriate sections to keep moving forward. Once you go through a small gap, the Memory Fragment will be waiting for you to pick it up.
