Build variety has seen a major increase with the release of Destiny 2: Beyond Light. The new Stasis Subclasses offer a breath of fresh air for the game's sandbox in both PvE and PvP modes. Thanks to a plethora of Exotics and Combat Style Mods, creating new builds in Destiny 2 has never been easier.

Most good builds in Destiny 2 focus on several aspects such as grenades, survivability, or damage. Some builds take this to the next level by significantly increasing the lethality or survivability of a Guardian thanks to Mods, Exotics, or even Stasis Fragments. From devastating Rifts to healing Warmind Cells, here are ten builds you need to try out in Destiny 2: Beyond Light.

10 Titan Juggernaut

Destiny 2 Heir Apparent Build

More of a fun build than a top-tier choice, Titans can turn into walking juggernauts when they pair Icefall Mantle with Heir Apparent. Heir Apparent's shield will override Icefall Mantle's overshield, granting a 150-point overshield for free. Combine this with your favorite Subclass and Protective Light to become a walking tank.

Recommended Gear:

  • Subclass: Any Titan Subclass
  • Weapon: Heir Apparent
  • Exotic Armor: Icefall Mantle
  • Combat Style Mod: Protective Light

9 Shatter Rift

Destiny 2 Stasis Rift

Warlock mains can finally turn the Vesper of Radius Exotic into a viable means of dealing damage in PvE. This is all thanks to the Frostpulse Aspect, causing Rifts you cast to freeze any nearby targets. When coupled with Vesper of Radius, the frozen enemies are immediately hit with Arc damage and shatter, dealing massive damage over a large area.

This build focuses on having Rifts up as frequently as possible. Vesper of Radius and the Frostpulse Aspect are mandatory for the build to work. To maximize Rift uptime, spec for 100 Recovery and use the Whisper of Refraction Fragment to gain 15% of your Rift energy upon killing frozen and chilled foes.

Recommended Gear:

  • Subclass: Shadebinder (Stasis)
  • Weapon: Anything with Demolitionist
  • Exotic Armor: Vesper of Radius
  • Aspects: Iceflare Bolts and Frostpulse
  • Fragments: Whisper of Refraction, Hedrons, Fissures, and Bonds
  • Combat Style Mods: Reactive Pulse and Protective Light

8 Heart Of Darkness

Destiny 2 Beyond Light Titan Behemoth

Behemoth Titans will want to use all of their abilities to traverse the battlefield and freeze targets. This build focuses on keeping those abilities ready as often as possible.

Heart of Inmost Light is the star of the show here, granting you increased ability damage and regeneration after you use any of your abilities for ten seconds. This synergizes with Glacier Grenades and Whisper of Shards, allowing you to recharge your grenade in a matter of seconds. Make it a habit to use your melee and grenade frequently to get the most out of this build.

Recommended Gear:

  • Subclass: Behemoth (Stasis)
  • Weapon: Your choice
  • Exotic Armor: Heart of Inmost Light
  • Aspects: Cryoclasm and Tectonic Harvest
  • Fragments: Whisper of Shards, Fissures, and Hedrons
  • Combat Style Mod: High-Energy Fire

7 Whisper Of Bakris

The Mask of Bakris Exotic Helmet sits on a table in Destiny 2.

Mask of Bakris is absurdly strong on Revenant Hunters when used aggressively. While the Arc damage boost doesn't work in the Crucible, the helmet causes all of your slows to debuff a target by 10% after shifting. This allows 120 RPM Hand Cannons to two-tap and makes your weapons much stronger. Pair this helmet with High-Energy Fire and the Whisper of Hedrons Fragment to become a force of destruction in PvP. It's also a solid setup for PvE.

Recommended Gear:

  • Subclass: Revenant (Stasis)
  • Weapon: Your choice
  • Exotic Armor: Mask of Bakris
  • Aspects: Shatterdive and Winter's Shroud
  • Fragments: Whisper of Hedrons and Durance
  • Combat Style Mod: High-Energy Fire

6 Support Siegebreaker

Destiny 2 Sunbreaker Titan

While Beyond Light has focused mostly on freezing opponents with Stasis, Code of the Siegebreaker can bring the heat just as well as other top-tier PvE options.

Siegebreakers will want to focus on Sunspots and Warmind Cells. Using Rage of the Warmind and the Wrath of Rasputin Mods will allow your Sunspots and Warmind Cells to spawn Warmind Cells on kill. Pair these Mods with Sunshot to become a walking solar flare that detonates anything they shoot at. For a more support-oriented setup, use the Fireteam Medic Mod and the Phoenix Cradle Exotic to make Sunspots work on teammates while allowing your Warmind Cells to heal allies. This is a much more explosive take on what Attunement of Grace Warlocks typically provide.

Recommended Gear:

  • Subclass: Code of the Siegebreaker (bottom tree Sunbreaker)
  • Weapon: Sunshot, Xenophage, or any weapon that deals Solar splash damage
  • Exotic Armor: Phoenix Cradle or Hallowfire Heart
  • Combat Style Mods: Wrath of Rasputin, Rage of the Warmind, Global Reach, and Fireteam Medic

5 Invisible Pathfinder

Destiny 2 Way Of The Pathfinder

Pathfinder Nightstalkers are still the best at soloing Destiny 2's hardest PvE content. This Subclass, when combined with The Sixth Coyote Exotic chest plate, allows for near-infinite invisibility and a solid source of grenade generation thanks to Gambler's Dodge. Use this setup with Protective Light and Supercharged to gain an absurd amount of survivability to solo the hardest content Destiny 2 has to offer.

Recommended Gear:

  • Subclass: Way of the Pathfinder (bottom tree Nightstalker)
  • Weapon: Your choice
  • Exotic Armor: The Sixth Coyote
  • Combat Style Mods: Protective Light and Supercharged

4 Support Warlock

Destiny 2 Well of Radiance

Attunement of Grace is one of the strongest Subclass trees in Destiny 2. The combination of healing and damage buffs makes this Subclass a near-perfect build on its own, but it can be enhanced with a few items.

Warmind Cells pair nicely with this spec, specifically when you have the Fireteam Medic Mod installed as it procs Benevolent Dawn. Sunbracers are a great choice for this setup, allowing you to throw an overcharged heal grenade before hurling a flurry of deadly Solar Grenades. Use Wrath of Rasputin and Rage of the Warmind to make Warmind Cells easy to spawn.

Recommended Gear:

  • Subclass: Attunement of Grace (middle tree Dawnblade)
  • Weapon: Lumina or weapons that deal Solar splash damage
  • Exotic Armor: Sunbracers
  • Combat Style Mods: Wrath of Rasputin, Rage of the Warmind, Global Reach, and Fireteam Medic

3 Shadebinder Grenadier

Destiny 2 Verity's Brow

Throwing dozens of Duskfield grenades is the point of this build, which has an absurd amount of crowd control that is nearly impossible to match. Use Duskfield Greandes on a Shadebinder Warlock and either Martyr's Retribution with Demolitionist or Deafening Whisper with Wellspring.

Throw a grenade to clump enemies together before firing your Grenade Launcher. Pair this with a few Firepower Mods to always have a grenade ready, allowing this deadly loop to continue.

Recommended Gear:

  • Subclass: Shadebinder (Stasis)
  • Weapon: Martyr's Retribution or Deafening Whisper
  • Exotic Armor: Verity's Brow
  • Aspects: Iceflare Bolts and Frostpulse
  • Fragments: Whisper of Hedrons, Refractions, Durance, and Bonds
  • Combat Style Mod: Firepower

2 Corruption

Destiny 2 Necrotic Grip

Thorn has become one of the strongest Exotics in Beyond Light thanks to the Necrotic Grip Exotic gauntlets for Warlocks. These gloves inflict a poison damage-over-time effect on targets upon a melee hit, spreading to nearby opponents whenever the affected target dies.

Necrotic Grip's spread effect also activates when Thorn kills someone. It offers an absurd degree of area damage in PvE and forces players to spread out in PvP. Couple this with the Shadebinder Subclass with Whisper of Hedrons to gain a 25% damage bonus after freezing someone, allowing Thorn to two-tap every Guardian in PvP.

Recommended Gear:

  • Subclass: Shadebinder (Stasis)
  • Weapon: Thorn
  • Exotic Armor: Necrotic Grip
  • Aspects: Iceflare Bolts and Frostpulse
  • Fragments: Whisper of Hedrons, Bonds, Refraction, and Fissures
  • Combat Style Mods: Precision Charge and High-Energy Fire

1 Revenant Grenadier

Destiny 2 Stasis Supers

Fans of the Revenant's Shatterdive will want to try out this build, which primarily focuses on throwing Glacier Grenades before immediately detonating them using Shatterdive. Thanks to certain Fragments and Mods, Revenants can get their grenade back mere seconds after detonating their Glacier Wall.

Whisper of Shards is a must for this build, granting around 70% of your grenade energy back ten seconds after you detonate a Glacier Wall. This build pairs that Fragment with Fr0st-EE5, a pair of boots that multiply your ability regeneration speed by around 25%. This causes your grenade to regenerate fully after eight seconds so long as you're sprinting. To make this even better, pair this build with a few Firepower Mods to generate a near-infinite supply of grenades.

Recommended Gear:

  • Subclass: Revenant (Stasis)
  • Weapon: Anything with Demolitionist
  • Exotic Armor: Fr0st-EE5
  • Aspects: Shatterdive and Winter's Shroud
  • Fragments: Whisper of Shards and Fissures
  • Combat Style Mod: Firepower
