With the release of Destiny 2's newest expansion, Beyond Light, fans will see the return of some characters not seen since the first game that will add new lore to the series. With every new expansion, Bungie also introduces players to new characters that add a lot to already existing lore. One of these characters first introduced in the Warmind expansion is Ana Bray.

Serving as the main character's guide on Mars in the second game, she seems to have a close connection to the Warmind Rasputin and the Clovis Bray facility on Mars. Read on to find out key facts about Ana Bray.

10 Her Life Before She Was A Guardian

During her old life during the Golden Age, Ana was adopted into the Bray family but was actually the biological daughter of Clovis Bray II, the person who founded the facility on Mars.

She was also the one who taught Rasputin independent thought. It was here where her close bond with the Warmind started as she introduced him to literature, music and philosophy.

9 She Discovered What Her Past Life Was

Normally when a guardian is revived for the first time by their ghost, they have no memory of their past life and usually do not seek to pursue who they were before. Ana though is different in that she learned about her past life from before her time as a hunter.

This was a result of what was on her at the time of her revival, most notably her Clovis Bray ID card. Remembering this would also later make her look for Rasputin, leading to the events of Warmind.

8 She Never Felt The Last City Was Her Home

The Last City in Destiny 1

While the guardians of humanity consider the City to be their home, that is not the case for Ana. Though she defended the City to the best of her ability, there was always this desire in her to learn more about Clovis Bray, Rasputin and more about her past.

It was because of this and her differing views on subjects such as the Warminds that would eventually lead to her decision to leave the Guardians behind during the Battle of Twilight Gap.

7 She Played A Major Role In The Battle Of Twilight Gap

The Battle of Twilight Gap was a major event before the events of the first game that saw three Fallen houses launch an all-out assault on the Last City. Bray worked with Commander Zavala to repel the Fallen back that would eventually lead to the Guardians holding the city.

It was during this though that she faked her own death by purposefully falling over a cliffside after a Fallen captain had attacked her ghost. This was so she could be free of the Vanguard in order to find a way to help humanity through Rasputin.

Bray did return to the Last City incognito during the events of the Warmind comic in order to find information in a library there about where Rasputin was being kept. It was here she met a human named Camrin Dumuzi.

Dumuzi was able to discover Ana's true identity, eventually working together with Ana and falls in love with her. Though she would eventually be wounded by the Vex while searching on Venus, leading Ana to put her into stasis on Earth.

5 She Kept To Herself During The Base Game

While Ghaul was assaulting the Last City at the beginning of the game, Ana ran into the Red Legion herself at the Hellas Basin region on Mars. She was battling the Cabal there with only a sidearm in hand when the Traveler's light was snuffed out by Ghaul, barely surviving her encounter with them because of it.

Though she does hear about Zavala's call to rally on Saturn's moon Titan, she chose to instead continue searching for Rasputin, fighting in her own way.

4 Her Relationship With Zavala

Ana's relationship with the stoic commander has been shaky at best even during her time as a guardian. This all comes down to how they both view Rasputin. Zavala thinks he is unpredictable and too dangerous to trust while Ana thinks he is the key to helping humanity.

It does not help matters either that Zavala feels she abandoned them during the Red War. Though by the time of the arrival of the Pyramids, they have seemingly buried the hatchet.

3 She Is A True Believer In Rasputin

Ana is the one who basically taught Rasputin everything he knows and legitimately cares about him like he is family. This has made her believe that Rasputin can really make a difference for humanity.

It is this belief that eventually motivates her every action. It is what makes the defeat of Rasputin at the hands of the Pyramids all the more heartbreaking. That she gave up so much of herself only to see her friend nearly get wiped out.

2 She Considers The Main Character A True Friend

While those around her never truly believed in her ideas as to help humanity, there was one person besides Camrin. That person being the main character of Destiny.

They were the person who responded to her distress call at the beginning of the Warmind expansion which saves both her and Rasputin. They were also the only one that genuinely listened her and gave Rasputin a chance at proving himself and participated in the escalation protocols. It is this friendship that eventually leads her to make amends with both Zavala and humanity by helping them out more often than just solely focusing on Rasputin.

1 She Returns To The Vanguard

After witnessing Rasputin's near death and recovering him with the help of the main character, she decides she will return to the City to aid Zavala in combating future threats from the Darkness.

It is here she finally moves on from her past and looks onto the future. Being a lone wolf for so long, she realizes that the bonds the Guardians share can be stronger than even the most advanced Warmind. She now decides to use her experience rebuilding her lost past into helping the Vanguard rebuild as well.
