The World’s First Raid Contest has been won by Clan Ascend in Destiny 2.

October is a big month for Bungie. Not only do they bring out the new Shadowkeep expansion for Destiny 2, but they also migrated away from the Battle.net/Activision launcher and relaunched their games on Steam.

It turned out to be a bit of a rough launch, but now the ball is rolling as smooth as ever, starting with the new raid being completed in a mere 6 hours and 14 minutes.

As with every new content drop in Destiny 2, a new raid arrived with Shadowkeep. Called "Garden of Salvation," it saw Guardians travel through a mysterious portal to attack the Vex on their home turf. That generally seems like a bad idea, but besides the usual rewards of bragging rights and sweet loot, Bungie sweetened the deal by holding an official contest.

Whomsoever first defeated the Garden of Salvation raid would be forever engraved in the history of Destiny 2. And they'd get a cool championship belt sent to them in the mail, too.

And the clan that did it was Ascend, comprised of Antivist, Cyber, ExBlack, Monks, Narhzul and Pash. They completed the feat in an average amount of time in comparison to other new raids, and according to Bungie, did it just 2 minutes and 33 seconds ahead of the next fastest fireteam.

You can watch the full raid here (y’know, in case you have 6 hours to spare), but the moment of triumph is probably the best part.

Those that finished the raid within the first 24 hours of the content drop got a unique emblem, while anyone who finishes before October 15th will be eligible to purchase a Garden of Salvation bomber jacket from the Bungie Store.

With the completion of the new raid, the Vex Invasion has begun on the moon. You can check out our guides on completing the new quest here, and all the new guns that you can get here.
