No Reprieve

Our first piratical implement of destruction is No Reprieve, a Shotgun that looks like a blunderbuss. Unlike the old-timey shotgun, however, No Reprieve is a Pinpoint Slug Frame Shotgun that fires a single slug. Its Origin Trait, Right Hook, offers extra range and target acquisition after dealing melee damage, which is excellent for Slug Shotguns.

No Reprieve has a lot of great perk combos. Triple-Tap and Focused Fury go together like fine wine, while both the pirate and melee theme can reach their logical conclusions with Pugilist and Swashbuckler. On the PvP side, Outlaw, Surplus, Feeding Frenzy, Snapshot Sites, and Harmony are all great. And don't forget Headstone for your Stasis builds.

Best PvE Roll: Extended Barrel, Assault Mag, Pugilist, Swashbuckler

Best PvP Roll: Full Bore, Accurized Rounds, Feeding Frenzy, Snapshot Sights

Blood Feud

Compared to either the Ikelos SMG or Extraordinary Rendition, Blood Feud has worse stats all around. What it does have, however, is the Right Hook Origin Trait and Pugilist--both of which pair together to make the perfect combo for any melee-focused build. Throw in Headstone for extra Stasis damage and Blood Feud might just be the best primary weapon for a Titan Behemoth.

Other than that, there's not a lot going for this weapon. You'll want to do whatever you can to shore up its lackluster stats, so PvP players will want to look for Dynamic Sway Reduction, Encore, and Elemental Capacitor.

Best PvE Roll: Smallbore, Tactical Mag, Pugilist, Headstone

Best PvP Roll: Corkscrew Rifling, Tactical Mag, Dynamic Sway Reduction, Elemental Capacitor

Tarnished Metal

Scout Rifles received a buff in Season of Plunder, and although Lightweight Scouts are still somewhat maligned compared to their High Impact or Precision cousins, Tarnished Metal offers a new perk that makes it quite interesting.

That perk is Voltshot. With this perk, reloading after a kill overcharges the weapon, causing it to jolt enemies on its next hit. Jolt is one of the new keywords introduced in Season 18 that is essentially chain lightning. Little bolts of electricity will fly out from the struck target, damaging all nearby enemies. This can make Tarnished Metal very good for clearing groups of ads and activating Arc 3.0's new Amplified status.

Other than that, Tarnished Metal offers some solid perks like Demolitionist, Dragonfly, Explosive Payload, Rapid Hit, and Multi-Kill Clip. Pick your favorite and enjoy.

Best PvE Roll: Smallbore, Tactical Mag, Demolitionist, Voltshot

Best PvP Roll: Smallbore, Accurized Rounds, Moving Target, Explosive Payload

Brigand's Law

Brigand's Law

Voltshot is a perk that's also available on Brigand's Law, the new Rapid-Fire Sidearm that looks a bit like a flintlock pistol. This is the seasonal weapon that should be most considered for mowing down tons of enemies up close. Doing Arc damage means it'll synergize well with the Arc 3.0 rework, and Voltshot just dials those multikills up to 11. Throw in some extra reload speed or range and you've got a Primary that kill more pirates than scurvy after all the lemons have gone bad.

This gun has even more options in PvP where Voltshot might not be as useful, although you'll need to do your best to boost Brigand's Law's terrible range stat.

Best PvE Roll: Smallbore, Accurized Rounds, Pugilist, Voltshot

Best PvP Roll: Smallbore, Accurized Rounds, Killing Wind, Rangefinder

Sailspy Pitchglass

Linear Fusion Rifles are still very good for single-target precision damage, and Sailspy Pitchglass offers the tried, tested, and true combo of Rapid Hit and Vorpal for maximum boss-melting power. Or you could go for Clown Cartridge and Focused Fury, or Ensemble and Frenzy. All of them work great.

Voltshot, however, changes this Linear Fusion from a precision damage weapon into an ad-clearing machine. That's something no Linear has been able to do since Lorentz Driver, and it's definitely worth playing around with if you already have a decent Stormchaser for melting bosses.

Best PvE Roll: Arrowhead Brake, Accelerated Coils, Rapid Hit, Vorpal

Best PvP Roll: Arrowhead Brake, Accelerated Coils, Moving Target, Voltshot

Planck's Stride

Planck's Stride

First off, we should note that the name of this Rapid-Fire Machine Gun isn't a typo. Instead of "plank" to go with the pirate theme, Bungie decided to make this weapon a pun by using the name of the German physicist who revolutionized human understanding of subatomic processes.

Fun trivia aside, Machine Guns are still bad despite last season's buff, the new perk Slickdraw is just plain terrible, and I simply cannot recommend this weapon for anything other than filling out a loadout that needs some form of ad-clear that deals Arc damage. The only thing Planck's Stride has over other Arc Machine Guns is its Origin Trait, but that's not enough to overcome the archetype's shortcomings.

Best PvE Roll: Arrowhead Brake, Tactical Mag, Grave Robber, Pugilist

Best PvP Roll: Arrowhead Brake, Accurized Rounds, Perpetual Motion, Thresh
