Destiny 2's Trials of Osiris has seen a significant rework in Season of the Lost. The focus of Trials has shifted from game wins to round wins, the loot structure is far more generous, and moment-to-moment gameplay has never been better. That final part is mostly thanks to Destiny 2's expanded buildcrafting over recent seasons.

Each class has never had so many good builds to try. Listing all of them would take ages, so we will be looking at six today—two for each class. These builds range from standard meta builds to more niche setups that can compete with the current meta. From invisible Hunters to supportive Titans, let's look at a few ways you can craft a powerful loadout for Destiny 2's Trials of Osiris.

Hunter: Shatterstorm

Destiny 2 Revenant Hunter

Let's address the elephant in the room: Shatterdive is overpowered. Most players know that at this point. But there's no denying that this build works. It's easy to use, deals immense damage, and can single-handedly swing rounds. Those are all key traits of a great build, so it deserves to be on here.

With this build, your goal is to have Glacier Grenades ready as often as possible to utilize as cover or pocket Nova Bombs. Thanks to the new Stasis mods this season, you can throw a Glacier Grenade every 15 seconds—even lower if you decide to use FR0ST-EE5. Bear in mind that this behavior is highly predictable, so don't over-rely on it.

Explanation

Traveler's Chosen

Great for cleanup after a Shatterdive, and it fuels all of your abilities

Hand Cannons

Easy to use, deal significant chip damage, and have great in-air accuracy with an Icarus Grip mod

You can use anything with this setup, but we feel Traveler's Chosen is an excellent pick. Use whichever Special and Heavy weapons you like.

Exotic

Explanation

FR0ST-EE5

Speeds up all of your cooldowns and grants sprint speed. Glaciers recharge in as little as eight seconds.

Mask of Bakris

Teleport immediately after a Shatterdive to seriously disorient your opponent.

ST0MP-EE5

The go-to for Shatterdive Hunters. Allows you to peak shot mid-air and descend to safety, allowing much more aggressive plays.

Any of the three Exotics listed are great options. FR0ST-EE5 is best for those that use Glacier Grenade every encounter and want to benefit from Whisper of Chains. Mask of Bakris is best for aggressive players that want to seriously disorient their opponents. If you can't decide, ST0MP-EE5 is always a good choice.

Subclass, Aspects, And Fragments

If you couldn't already tell, this build uses the Revenant subclass with Glacier Greandes and a Dodge ability of your choice. You'll want to use the following:

Aspects

Aspect

Description

Shatterdive

Press your mid-air input to quickly descend, instantly shattering anything near you.

Touch of Winter

Glacier Greandes now form in a ring and have an additional crystal.

Fragments

Fragment

Description

Fissures

Stasis shatters deal more damage over a wider area.

Shards

Breaking a Stasis crystal increases grenade regen. Buff cannot exceed ten seconds.

  • +10 Resilience

Chains

Standing near a Stasis crystal or frozen target grants 25% damage resistance.

  • +10 Recovery

With this setup, you can use your Glacier Grenades as cover, platforms, a means of blocking off passages, or an explosive trap that you can detonate with Shatterdive.

Armor Mods

Grenade Kickstart (x2)

(Stasis Gloves)

Throwing a grenade immediately refunds 30% grenade energy.

Bomber (x2)

Dodging grants around 15% grenade energy.

Coupled with Whisper of Shards, you gain your grenade back every 15 seconds with 100 Discipline and a single Dodge. With FR0ST-EE5, this cooldown is eight seconds.

Hunter: Graviton's Snare

Destiny 2 Graviton Forfeit

If you recoil at the thought of playing a Revenant in PvP, there's a second build you can use that's just as powerful, albeit for a very different reason. This build pairs Top Tree Nightstalker with Graviton Forfeit, an Exotic helmet that saw a buff in Season of the Lost.

Related: The Best Exotics For Hunters In Destiny 2, Ranked

This build is all about controlling the enemy team through deception. Your melee gives off a radar ping as if it were a player, and your Dodge takes you off the radar. Using these two abilities intelligently can swing entire rounds in your favor and make 1v3s significantly more manageable. If you're planning to solo queue and want to attempt Flawless, this build will serve you well.

Weapon

Explanation

MIDA Multi-Tool

Excellent range, flinches enemies heavily, and maintains radar while in ADS

Ace of Spades

Forgiving Hand Cannon that retains radar while aiming

Rat King

Great TTK up-close, makes you invisible after a kill, and can heal you

Beyond the Exotics listed above, use anything you're most comfortable with. Since your radar is enhanced with this spec, anything that retains radar is highly recommended.

Exotic

Exotic

Explanation

Graviton Forfeit

Extends invisibility duration. Gain the following benefits while invisible:

  • Drastically faster melee recharge
  • Faster reload speed
  • More recovery

Graviton's increased invisibility duration and melee recharge effects are incredible. You can throw your Snare Bomb whenever you see fit, manipulating the enemy's radar or stunning them.

Subclass

Way of the Trapper (Top Tree Nightstalker) is what this build uses. Your melee adds a radar ping relative to its location, throwing enemies off. If they stand on your melee trap, they become stunned for a few seconds, similar to how Stasis' Slow debuff functions. Dodging makes you invisible, and your Super can suppress enemy Supers. Use your preferred grenade and Dodge ability.

To get the most out of this build, you need to manage your movement carefully. Even while invisible, sprinting, shooting, or using an ability jump will generate a radar ping. However, sprinting in place for three seconds before moving will remove your radar ping, allowing you to move at full speed without appearing on the radar. Throw a Snare Bomb at your feet, go invisible, sprint for three seconds, then reposition. This will completely throw your enemies off.

Armor Mods

Armor Mod (Slot)

Description

Grenade Kickstart

(Stasis Gloves)

Throwing a grenade immediately refunds 15% grenade energy.

Utility Kickstart (x2)

(Stasis Cape)

Dodging grants around 30% class ability energy.

Utility Kickstart allows you to use your Dodge ability one second after your invisibility ends while at 100 Mobility. Grenade Kickstart is useful for rounding out the build's capabilities. Consider speccing for Discipline to make up for the lack of grenade-related effects on your Exotic and subclass.

Warlock: Elemental Stag

Destiny 2 The Stag

If you have terrible teammates but want to play somewhat defensively, this is the build for you. With The Stag's buffs in Season of the Lost, Warlocks that play around their Rifts are more deadly than ever before. Pairing this with Bottom Tree Stormcaller, you gain access to constant chip damage through Arc Souls, immense movement speed, and a Super that can shut down everything from Spectral Blades to Ward of Dawn.

Weapon

Explanation

No Time to Explain

Excellent dueling weapon at medium distances that can create a mobile turret of its own, stacking with Arc Soul

No Time to Explain fits this build perfectly. It's excellent for mid-range battles and creates its own variant of an Arc Soul. When paired with Arc Soul, any enemy that challenges you to a Primary duel will lose.

Exotic

Exotic

Explanation

The Stag

Your Rifts grant 15% damage resistance. Gain 70% Rift energy when your shields break. Dying creates a Rift at your corpse.

If you couldn't already tell, this build uses The Stag. The damage resistance it grants pairs nicely with Healing Rifts. Your allies gain the DR buff too.

Subclass

Attunement of the Elements (Bottom Tree Stormcaller) has some excellent passives that enhance your Rifts, granting Arc Souls and faster cooldown times. You also cast Landfall when you activate Stormtrance. This ability is absurd, capable of one-shotting a Ward of Dawn and everyone inside. If your anchor playstyle goes south, Electrostatic Surge gives you a massive boost to your movement speed. Use any grenade you like. Rifts are down to preference, but Healing Rifts generally serve you better in 3v3 game modes.

Armor Mods

Armor Mod (Slot)

Description

Bomber (x2)

(Solar Bond)

Casting your Rift grants around 15% grenade energy.

Bomber is the only must-have mod for this build. Since you're casting your Rift so often, you might as well get some grenade energy out of it.

Warlock: Icarian Flight

Destiny-2-Dawnblade

Top Tree Dawnblade might have seen a nerf, yet its effectiveness in PvP has hardly diminished. This spec allows you to play aggressively and outplay enemies from off-angles. We'll be combining this spec with certain Exotics and mods to allow this aggressive playstyle to truly shine.

Weapon Recommendations

Weapon

Explanation

Any Exotic Hand Cannon

You can make your weapons have perfect in-air accuracy with Heat Rising, so use an Exotic Hand Cannon to take full advantage of this

Shotgun

You close the gap so quickly that Shotguns become exceptionally strong

Sniper Rifle

If you prefer to use Heat Rising, bring a Sniper Rifle instead of a Shotgun

Hand Cannons and Shotguns are always viable, especially when you're playing as an aggressive Warlock. If you play more reserved, consider using Dead Man's Tale and your favorite Sniper Rifle.

Exotic

Exotic

Explanation

Transversive Steps

Faster sprint speed, further slides, and sprinting auto-loads your equipped weapon

Ophidian Aspects

Gain a massive boost to your handling and reload stats; melee range is also extended

Starfire Protocol

Gives two grenade charges, allowing you to chain Heat Rising

Your Exotic of choice will boil down to playstyle. The community has debated whether Transversive Steps or Ophidian Aspects are better for years now, so we'll leave that decision up to you. Starfire Protocol deserves mention for its second grenade charge, allowing you to reactivate Heat Rising. This gives you a major window to exploit strange off-angles.

Subclass

Attunement of Sky (Top Tree Dawnblade) is an excellent subclass that enhances virtually every playstyle. Use your favorite grenade and Rift, but we do recommend you use Burst Glide. If you activate Burst Glide and immediately Icarus Dash, you gain a massive surge in momentum, allowing you to close gaps and reach angles much faster. Use the movement provided by this spec to strike fast and from strange angles.

Armor Mods

Armor Mod (Slot)

Description

Grenade Kickstart (x2)

(Stasis Gloves)

Throwing a grenade immediately refunds 30% grenade energy.

Bomber (x2)

(Solar Bond)

Casting your Rift grants around 15% grenade energy.

Consuming your grenade grants Heat Rising, so grenade-related armor mods go well here. Double Grenade Kickstarts drastically increase your uptime for Heat Rising, or you can use your grenades to flush enemies out of cover. It boils down to your playstyle.

Titan: Defensive Scars

Destiny 2 Precious Scars

One of the most stressful aspects of a Trials match is when an ally is downed. The enemy typically rushes your position to finish the job, ending the round. Precious Scars, a Titan Exotic, completely flips the script during these moments. Reviving an ally makes you a mobile Well of Radiance for a short time, giving everyone an immense overshield.

Related: Destiny 2: The Best Titan Builds For PvP And PvE

This build takes Precious Scars and pairs it with Top Tree Sentinel, allowing you to support your team with virtually every action. Shut down Supers with your grenade, give allies an overshield with your melee, and give your entire team a 35% damage buff with Ward of Dawn. When paired with Precious Scars, you effectively become a support spec in PvP.

Explanation

Void Weapons

Activates Precious Scars' healing perk

Any weapon works with this build, although Void weapons are needed to activate Precious Scars' health-on-kill perk.

Exotic

Exotic

Explanation

Precious Scars

Reviving an ally or being revived grants everyone nearby a 100-point overshield for 15 seconds. Kills that match your subclass element heal you and nearby allies.

Precious Scars is an amazing support Exotic, allowing you to passively help your team by killing enemies. Defeating a target with a weapon that matches your subclass element will heal yourself and nearby allies. This can swing entire gunfights in your favor, but it gets better. Reviving a teammate gives yourself and nearby allies a 100-point overshield, so long as they stay near you. This completely flips lopsided gunfights in your favor.

Subclass

Code of the Protector (Top Tree Sentinel) has some solid support abilities we'll be taking advantage of. Defensive Strike pairs nicely with Precious Scars' healing effect, Suppressor Grenades are incredible for shutting down Supers, and Ward of Dawn provides a massive damage buff. Use any Barricade ability.

Armor Mods

Armor Mod (Slot)

Description

Grenade Kickstart

(Stasis Gloves)

Throwing a grenade immediately refunds 15% grenade energy.

Bomber (x2)

(Solar Mark)

Deploying a Barricade grants around 15% grenade energy.

Having more Suppressor Grenades is never a bad thing, allowing you to counter Revenant Hunters and Supers more frequently.

Titan: Firewalker's Assault

Destiny 2 Path of Burning Steps

This build takes the excellent neutral game of Bottom Tree Striker and merges it with Path of Burning Steps, an Exotic pair of boots that increase weapon damage by landing Solar kills. Despite what many believe, you can use Path of Burning Steps on any subclass; you just need to have a Solar weapon.

Fortunately, there are many powerful Solar weapons for PvP. Vex Mythoclast with this build is incredible, giving this weapon a TTK that surpasses most Primaries. Alternatively, you can use Tarrabah to instantly melt an enemy team with Ravenous Beast. Once you get Firewalker going, nothing can stop you.

Weapon Recommendations

Weapon

Explanation

Vex Mythoclast

Arguably overpowered when paired with Path of Burning Steps; can maintain near-constant damage buffs

Tarrabah

With Ravenous Beast, you can shut down Supers with ease

Igneous Hammer

Firewalker x1 and Rampage x1 is enough to two-tap someone

Any Solar weapon will work with this build, notable mentions including Vex Mythoclast, Tarrabah, and Igneous Hammer. Vex Mythoclast is especially strong with this build if you use Quick Charge and High-Energy Fire, granting near-constant damage buffs.

Exotic

Exotic

Explanation

Path of Burning Steps

Solar kills increase weapon damage for ten seconds. Starts at a 20% buff, caps out at 35%. Stasis effects are also weaker on you.

Path of Burning Steps helps counter Stasis slows while granting a massive lethality boost to your weapons. The damage boost affects all weapons, not just Solar weapons.

Subclass

Code of the Juggernaut (Bottom Tree Striker) has one of the best neutral games out of any Titan spec. Use your favorite grenade and Barricade, then play the game as you would normally. You'll have extended melee range, a noticeable damage buff after a melee kill, and a long-lasting Super. Be careful when you use your Super, as Revenant Hunters will stop at nothing to Shatterdive you while Fists of Havoc is active.

Armor Mods

Armor Mod (Slot)

Description

Melee Kickstart (x2)

(Stasis Gloves)

Using your charged melee immediately refunds 30% grenade energy.

Frontal Assault is an absurdly good melee ability that you'll want up as often as possible. While this perk is active, all of your weapons deals 20% increased damage. With the Firewalker buff and Charged with Light mods, you almost always have a damage boost active. If you want better grenade uptime, you can replace Melee Kickstart with Grenade Kickstart or use Bomber mods on your Mark.
