A new set of Seasonal Challenges have released for Destiny 2, this time asking players to conquer some of Destiny 2's more demanding challenges. Competitive Crucible games, Champion eliminations, and Nightfall completions are just a few things you'll need to partake in this week.

Fortunately, most of these challenges shouldn't take too long to complete. Some of them demand participation in a high-end activity, but that shouldn't dissuade you from completing them. Most of this week's challenges grant double XP on top of Bright Dust. If you want to level your Season Pass quickly, get these challenges done! Let's go over how to complete each of them.

What Are Seasonal Challenges?

Destiny 2 Chosen Week 4 Challenges

Seasonal Challenges are unique Triumphs that grant Bright Dust, XP, and other goodies when completed. Each week, a new set of Seasonal Challenges will be added for Guardians to complete. Should you miss previous weekly Seasonal Challenges, they will still be available to complete. Seasonal Challenges expire when a new season launches.

Where Can I View Seasonal Challenges?

You can view them from either your Quests tab or the Season 13 tab in your Director. Select the ribbon that says "Seasonal Challenges" to view your progress towards a particular challenge. Unlike Triumphs, Seasonal Challenges cannot be tracked.

What's A Retroactive Challenge?

Progress towards certain Seasonal Challenges before they are available. Challenges that track your progress retroactively are noted in applicable entries.

Contender's Ascent IV

Destiny 2 HELM Room

Contender's Ascent IV: Report to the War Table in the H.E.L.M. and complete the "Challenger's Proving IV" quest. Then defeat Cabal using Sniper Rifles.

Rewards

  • XP
  • Far Future – Sniper Rifle
  • Empress – Lore
  • War Table Reputation (Medium)

Once again, you'll need to travel to the H.E.L.M. to pick up the next part of the Challenger's Proving quest. When those objectives are complete, you'll need to defeat 50 Cabal with Sniper Rifles. Battlegrounds are a fantastic way to get this challenge done. The Arms Dealer strike also works.

Golden Reaper

Destiny 2 Hammer

Golden Reaper: Acquire Cabal Gold by playing strikes, Gambit, Crucible, public events, and more.

Rewards

  • XP
  • War Table Reputation (Medium)

This challenge's objective is retroactive.

You'll need 400 Cabal Gold to complete this week's Golden Reaper Challenge. There's a good chance this challenge will finish for you automatically if you've been playing Destiny 2 consistently. If not, complete a few Crucible games or strikes to quickly acquire a large sum of Cabal Gold.

Explosive Entrance

Destiny 2 Barrier Champion Finisher

Explosive Entrance: Defeat Champions and get grenade takedowns in Battlegrounds.

Rewards

  • XP
  • War Table Reputation (Medium)

You must defeat ten Champions and get 45 grenade takedowns for this challenge. The Champions can be anywhere in the game. Another challenge this week, Contender's Delve, asks for a Legend or Master Lost Sector completion. Since those have Champions, it's not a bad idea to obtain your ten Champions kills from these Lost Sectors.

As for the grenade takedowns, use whichever grenade you're most comfortable with. Warlocks can find great success with Vortex Grenades when paired with Controverse Hold, Titans can use Thermite Grenades while earing Hallowfire Heart, and Hunters can use Arc Bolt Grenades while wearing Lucky Raspberry.

Intruder Alert

Destiny 2 Season of the Chosen Battleground

Intruder Alert: Don't allow opponents to interrupt Ghost in Battlegrounds missions.

Reward

  • XP

This challenge's objective is retroactive.

Intruder Alert asks you to prevent your Ghost from being interrupted two times while in a Battlegrounds mission. This can be completed during the Battleground: Oracle mission on Nessus. During the first encounter, your Ghost will need to scan a Vex pillar while waves of Cabal charge you. Disruptor Psions will occasionally spawn, charging straight for the pillar. Kill them before they reach your Ghost to complete this challenge.

Contender's Delve

Destiny 2 Legendary Lost Sector Farming Tips

Contender's Delve: Complete a Lost Sector on Legend or higher.

Rewards

  • XP
  • 75 Bright Dust

Two Lost Sectors will have a Legend or Master difficulty variant you can farm each day. These Lost Sectors have additional modifiers, Champions, and have a high Power Level requirement. You must complete one of these Lost Sectors to complete this challenge. This challenge can be done with a fireteam, although this will void your chance at an Exotic armor piece at the end of the Lost Sector run.

We have guides for each of these Legendary Lost Sectors that you can view here. Scroll down to the Lost Sector part of the guide to find them.

Challenger's Cipher

Destiny 2 Master Rahool

Challenger's Cipher: Decrypt Prime Engrams.

Rewards

  • XP
  • 75 Bright Dust

Decrypt five Prime Engrams to complete this challenge. Prime Engrams have a random chance of dropping from any PvE combatant you kill. There isn't a real way to farm Prime Engrams, so this will mainly boil down to playtime.

Sling The Stone...

Destiny 2 Champion

Sling the Stone... Stagger, pierce, or disrupt Champions.

Rewards

  • Double XP
  • 150 Bright Dust

To complete this challenge, you must counter 30 Champions by using anti-Champion weapons. Certain Exotics come with anti-Champion properties pre-installed. Certain weapon archetypes also have Champion mods tied to the Seasonal Artifact. You can farm this bounty by countering the same Champion 30 times, but this is rather monotonous. Complete a Master Lost Sector or Nightfall to get this done quickly.

High-Value Hunter

Destiny 2 Gambit

High-Value Hunter: Defeat powerful combatants in Gambit. Earn bonus progress for defeating high-value targets.

Rewards

  • Double XP
  • 150 Bright Dust

High-Value Hunter requires you to defeat enemies that are orange-bars or tougher. Standard orange-bar enemies are worth one point. High-value targets will spawn halfway through a match, granting significantly more progress when defeated. Keep an ear out for when they spawn; Drifter will announce when an HVT arrives.

Should you fail to kill the HVT, focus on damaging the Primeval. Every percent of health you remove gives an equal amount of percent to this challenge. In other words, you can easily get this done in four games if you damage the Primeval by 25% each game. This challenge should be a cakewalk for most.

Cadre Of Contenders

Destiny 2 Crucible

Cadre of Contenders: Complete Crucible matches in the Competitive playlist.

Rewards

  • Double XP
  • 150 Bright Dust

The Competitive playlist refers to the Glory playlist in your Crucible Directory. This rotates between Elimination and Survival each week. You must complete eight games to complete this challenge. Note that you do not have to win these games; completion is all this challenge demands. Queue up in the Freelance playlist if you don't have a fireteam.

Note: Wins do not grant extra progress on this one. You have to complete eight games.

Vanguard Chosen

Destiny Fallen SABER Boss

Vanguard Chosen: Complete any Nightfall: The Ordeal strike on Hero difficulty or higher.

Rewards

  • Double XP
  • 150 Bright Dust

Complete three Nightfalls on Hero difficulty or higher to complete this challenge. Since Hero has matchmaking enabled, this is the best difficulty to farm. Just be sure to bring weapons with anti-Champion properties.
